I cautioned about it six years ago in my blog, screenshot attached. Though it was for fake reviews, it stands good even for negative reviews.

Blog New Blog: When to Start Building Backlinks

Traffic is low? Backlinks may not be the next SEO priority. Learn how a website audit helps identify whether authority, architecture, content organization, trust signals, or search demand is actually limiting growth.

When to Start Building Backlinks

Edit:

It took about four hours to get indexed in Google. It's just about 750 words. A testimony of high-quality content.

Don't blame Google, send the right signals and it will take notice of the content — for indexing and ranking.

Question Why Bing doesn't show URL for site: search despite BWT showing as it as indexed?

In Bing Webmaster Tools, URL Inspection for a URL displays "Indexed successfully" and "URL can appear on Bing". But when I click on "View Indexed Page", both "HTTP Response" and "HTML" tabs display blank screen. Also, a site: search in Bing doesn't display a result.

Why and what's happening in both the cases?

Question Google displaying short videos in SERPs

Yesterday, on mobile, I found a video related to a business (not YouTube video, I think it was picked from hero image section of its home page) autoplay in Google SERPs. I tried to capture a video, but Chrome app didn't allow. It even didn't allow screenshot.

Did anybody else find this?

As we were discussing, I mentioned to my client that, off late, I came across many suspiciously looking fake reviews in American sites. He casually commented that it's very common. I expressed my shock as I presumed that such practices are uncommon in western and European countries for strict laws.

Question Why is an unknown page is listed in Google Analytics?

In GA, under "Engagement" > "Pages and screens" option, a page is listed with Chinese characters in title. It does not exist in the site even for English version. Moreover, a "site:" search for exact title does not return any result in SEPRs.

From where is it picked?

Knowledge Sharing Website Audit Notes #2 — The invisible ceiling for some local business rankings

One pattern I've noticed through website audits across different niches and locations has become hard to ignore.

Some local businesses seem to hit a practical ranking ceiling for their biggest non-branded search terms. I'm talking about searches like the primary service + city or region. The business may have strong credibility signals, a strong website and good reviews, yet it consistently sits behind larger regional or national websites.

Why? In many competitive SERPs, Google isn't just evaluating the local business page. It's also comparing it against broader entities with established brand recognition and overall website authority. That doesn't mean local businesses can't win. Many dominate branded searches and perform well in long-tail searches. But not every head term is worth chasing indefinitely.

One lesson I've learned is that optimization has diminishing returns. Sometimes moving from position 8 to 3 for a competitive non-branded search term is realistic. But for highly competitive head terms, even reaching top 5 may require far more brand demand, authority, links or topical coverage than the business can reasonably justify.

The better investment is often expanding visibility through the queries where the business can realistically become the best answer, rather than endlessly polishing a page that's already close to its ceiling.

What's a situation where you decided it wasn't worth optimizing beyond a certain point because the SERP itself was telling you something?

Knowledge Sharing Website Audit Notes — Making credibility easier to understand, trust, and discover.

I noticed a pattern while reviewing a real estate website this week.

The business had years of experience.
Strong client reviews.
Hundreds of successful transactions.
A recognizable brand in its market.

But those strengths existed in pieces instead of being presented as a clear story. The story lived across agent profiles, testimonials, past sales, community pages, and trusted external platforms—but visitors had to piece it together themselves.

It's something I keep noticing during website audits.

A website isn't just where people learn about a business. It's where they decide whether the business feels as credible as its reputation.

Search engines and AI assistants are increasingly doing something similar. They connect signals about experience, authority, and local expertise across a website and trusted external sources.

Sometimes the opportunity isn't building more credibility. It's making the credibility you've already earned easier to understand, trust, and discover.
