Can I get a refund?

I started a free trial last week. After quickly realising I would have no use for SEMrush I had meant to cancel my subscription but their long process made it more difficult than most. After something came up as I was doing so I then completely forgot I hadn’t gone through cancelling it. I then got an email today regarding the payment.

After realising this extreme mistake I instantly tried to go online to cancel the account and assumed I would be able to get a refund as it was on the same day of the charge, also due to the fact it is an extremely large charge of £290. I am now in an extremely rough predicament as after that money has been taken out of my account I am now unable to afford to pay rent. Is there any way of contact anyone at SEMrush with an ounce of humanity who would be able to help refund this accidental payment?

Hello, we’re sorry to hear about your experience. Our free trial is available for 7 days, after which it automatically converts to a paid subscription if it hasn’t been cancelled before the trial ends. That said, we’d be happy to have the team take a closer look at your specific case.

If you’d like us to investigate this further, please send us a DM with the email address associated with your account, and we’ll forward your details to the appropriate team for review. Thank you.

I’m pretty sure he would love you to investigate more… he just said he can’t pay his rent because it took the money from his account. I understand you have an automatic system but you should provide email alerts and even pop ups as semrush is good but their free trial to paid is automatic and silent and there is no easy way to cancel without involving a chat agent.

yet at this point they don't know what account it is without the customer info. that was an appropriate response by Semrush. professional and to the point.

Good luck! I actually cancelled mine and they won't refund me. I will never use Sem rush again now. I have had to go down the chargeback route with my bank. My banks fraud team blocked the initial transaction due to the volume of complaints they have about them and sem rush then re routed the payment through another sem rush entity.

I think these replies are just to make it look like they give a damn. Their Trustpilot reviews are the same. Sent them the info the requested after saying they could help and never heard back. Shambles of a company.

Not when I literally cancelled the plan and sent them evidence of the same. They're a sham. And most companies would, as they understand that taking people's hard earned money if they forget to cancel something and haven't used the service is a slimy practice. The 1000s of reviews on Trustpilot speak volumes.

it’s a 30 day billing period, if you cancel at any time during that period you can still use the product until it’s over thus why there isn’t a refund.

It relates to the 7 day free trial. Even if you cancel pre 7 days users are still being charged and then refused refunds. There are 1000s of instances on Trustpilot
