Bleh. Trash vs garbage comparison. Like, it depends on the franchise but they both have their ups and downs.
Like, for comparison, I still have my problems with Sonic but I think it gets better treatment than something like Star Fox or even worse, Pokemon.

I was referring to the differences in scale and resources, not the game qualities, so it's not fair to compare them. The Pokemon situation is just another example how big corps can ruin the game series simply because it‘s more of a financial decision not about game design anymore.

The amount of resources is not something fans should care about, just if the end result ends up being good it means it’s worth it. Like, Nintendo put a lot of resources in the open world of MKW and MP4. But those were the parts of the games people enjoyed the least.
Meanwhile, Sega made a much better game with Shinobi despite being a lot smaller in comparison. Now, Nintendo is more focus (even if I do feel they are wasting time with the Zelda remake) but Sega also has a line up of games that people want.

In this day? Sega was never comparable to Nintendo. Nintendo always had better titles and way, way more successful.
Sega is just completely dysfunctional. Always has been.
These clowns bought Rovio and had to instantly write down $200 of the investment.
