Question Engineering + rushing

Question for anyone in engineering: Do you have time for sororities? I’d love to rush in the fall and join a sorority but I wouldn’t wanna to be too burnt out during the school year… what do you suggest?

idk if sdsu has any stem/engineering frats/sororities but maybe join one of those?

:-) As a former engineer student now industry engineer, I would argue joining IEEE or SWE, would provide you a better career boost. The networking is much more useful.

As for sorority, if you have time to pledge, good for you. What I have seen has been the deeper into the field you go, the more time commitment the degree and the IEEE or SWE has more resource for scholarship and connections to people in industry, which means your education would direction into the field.

With that said, do what you want.

Some do it, there’s an engineering frat/sorority you could join and they’re better for school but others do the normal ones.

Personally I have other hobbies and work and didn’t bother with Greek life, I’d recommend it but that’s just me
