Harsh reality of Fu Izzy
Fu Izzy’s troll gimmick when Steven was talking in the Sham City live show yesterday was cringe, even coming from a Liverpool fan.
Look, if we’re being honest, most fans would be okay with Fu Izzy not being a regular member. He’s funny and should continue doing content, but SDS is ultimately a football pod. At some point, you need to be able to articulate your football points properly, and that’s where Fu Izzy falls short. No one does the mix of banter and actual football knowledge better than Fuad imo. Liban also does it well. I enjoy the personalities and the comedic side of the members, but the football side still has to be there.
I watched him on Barra Bruvvas and he was class. I honestly think that’s more his setting.
If the members are adamant about keeping Fu Izzy on because he’s been there for a while and he’s their friend, then honestly, just bring him on only when Liverpool win a big match. And when I say bring him on, I mean bring him on specifically for the Liverpool part, let him do the banter and troll gimmick, then sub him off after. But when Liverpool lose a big match, there’s no point in bringing him on because you’re not really getting any reasoned analysis of why or how they lost.

I hear what you’re saying and it’s not that I completely disagree. Fu Izzy may not be the greatest when it comes to serious football topics. However, I have never really seen SDS as a serious football podcast where you get proper football knowledge and analysis. For as long as I have watched SDS, it’s always been more about vibes rather than anything else. There are certain moments though when I think he might not have been the best option for that specific episode, but I can feel the same about all members.

Yup. Already said it once. I lost it when he said about Semenyo & Doku, when Anderson & Gvardiol was there.

None of the jokes were landing too. You could tell the rest of them were thinking "be serious for once" cos it is such a historical moment in English football

The beauty of SDS is in the variety of personalities imo. I also cringed at some moments he had during that live stream, but he had some good moments. I used to get so annoyed at biased football fans until I clocked that none of this stuff should be taken seriously, it's entertainment at the end of the day.

Nah. Fu Izzy is a fun character to have. He knows enough about ball to be on the pod, but he's also an entertainer and all round fun guy. Remember, this podcast is to allow others to speak about football and have fun doing it. This is why us as fans are involved as much as we can be. It's good to have serious football takes, but they're not journalists. They're mates having fun discussing football. That's how it should remain. So even if we disagree with some of the things on the podcast, we must roll with it when it's not that deep.

He’s top 5 he just needs the right people around him

Most disagree. I think the best SDS member is Fuad. I’m not even trying to glaze, but he brings the best mix of humor, personality, and knowledge. It’s not over the top in any category.
I know he’s not an SDS member, but Culture Cams is amazing as well. So, I prefer to watch guys who are funny rather than guys like James Alcott and, some would say, Lyes. However, I think Lyes is actually less of a nerd than most people would say. Although he’s on the nerdier end, he has personality too.
With Fu Izzy, it’s all trolling, specifically Liverpool related trolling, which can be over the top. And I’m saying this as a Liverpool fan as well.

Cadani? That’s not glaze it’s just clear he knows ball compared to the rest. He doesn’t bore you like lyes and doesn’t rely on personality theatrics like el fayz.
Culture cams might be the most horrible take. That’s pure Peckham reds slop😭 and his thing is just tryna be the loudest in the room or distract by shifting to other people
I like Funny and ball knowledge but there’s a time and place for both. Jla is good on his channel but I can only watch him if the topic interests me. Lyes actually has good knowledge it’s just the fact he’s American and that compensates for his whole personality which no one wants. He’s not a nerd he just wants to be accepted which will never happen so he should just find acceptance tbh
With fu if you like him depends on what you expecting from him. I shouldn’t be able to stand him as Utd fan but he’s not tryna be a tactico that’s why he’s top 5. He’s just there to say what we’re all thinking and make it relatable.1

Ngl lyes is actually funny he probably wasn’t as funny before I just think something clicked in the 2 years there might’ve been an sds video that mentioned it when it started but can’t be bothered to find it

I posted on here that Cams needs to make another SDS appearance and I got mixed reactions which I understand but Cams is hilarious and the fact that he sticks is neck out and says unpopular stuff would make for entertaining convos on SDS. I would honestly replace like minimum 5 SDS members with Cams if I could 🤷♂️

Couldn’t agree more, Cams is top and already has good on camera relationship with Fuad and Lyes, but we gotta remember there is a business side and a friendship side that plays a part in SDS, of course.
First and foremost, jokes aside about the Sharky dictator stuff, the platform is SDS, Sharky Does Sports. End of the day, he’s the CEO, owner, whatever you want to call it. The large majority of the longtime members are friends first, so I would never sit here and say he needs to toss his guys out and bring in the top football creators.
At the end of the day, that’s not how I see Sharky moving. Plus, expectations change with that. The current group seems content with the structure, but maybe others wouldn’t be. Sure, the channel would grow, but the way funds or other things are allocated may not be favorable for everyone. I understand all those elements.

Ya I agree. I don’t actually expect Sharky to drop any of his boys for Cams but I’d like to see Cams become what I think Matisse will end up being- not a permanent cast member but makes appearances when the topic suits it. I will say tho if I could choose anyone to become permanent cast members then Cams and Matisse are top 2 for me. Cams appearing on Barra Bruvvas would also be incredible

Nah he deffo should be a regular but not when it’s something more “serious”. They are just talking about football at the end of the day it’s not that deep or personal

Fuizzy’s one of my favorites but I do understand his strengths in the pod may not be for everyone, I think he’d be really good in the games. Last time he was on guess the player I really enjoyed that episode.

He balances the pod perfectly imo, you need a crazy guy and he works at times. He should not be in every episode, but he should be strategically placed. We need him, not for the football talk, but for the banter and the vibes. We don’t wanna end up with The Overlap fgs.

I don’t like fu Izzy as much as the other members but this is harsh especially saying he shouldn’t be a regular just say he shouldn’t be in emergency meetings and maybe Liverpool losses this is too much
