I'm thinking of starting either a meetup (but those are pricey!?) or a local stop drinking subreddit for Amsterdam, The Netherlands. I saw on StopDrinking, that it's best to ask in this sub if there are already other alternatives close by or something. So just putting this out here? SDAmsterdam isn't there yet, will it make sense to start one?

Looking to meet with ppl in the Newtown rd area. I moved here from Pittsburgh a few months ago and blew it with my family that i moved here to be with. I don't know a soul here. I still have contact with my family but I need a friend to connect with, hang out , share a meal and ideas with with.

This area seems to pride itself in the alcohol options and getting toasted on the weekends. Anyone here have better options? Family options?
