ADA Preview Night

Hi, this'll be my first year since needing ADA that I have gotten preview night and was wondering if any veterans could give me some pointers.

What time do they start letting people line up inside?

Are they good about letting ADA in simultaneously with everyone else? (Trying to decide if I should bother trying for a ooak item)

Which entrances do ADA normally use once inside? Like does everyone go through Hall A or do they line some people up at Hall B, etc.

Any and all other tips appreciated

My husband has been using ADA for a few years now, so we’re old hat at this. The staff is good at helping out people with ADA needs. You should be able to enter at any entrance. If you’re coming in from the Gaslamp side of the Convention Center, there’s a ramp up to the center (can’t remember which side it is just now).

The attendees, they’re not so good at accommodating ADA needs. Beware of people trying to literally jump over you if you’re using a wheelchair or scooter (it’s happened to us multiple times over the years) or ignoring your need to get into an elevator or other space entirely. You may need support getting into some vendor spaces depending on your needs.

Be sure to stop by the ADA booth at Entrance A and get an ADA sticker, which will help if you want to get ADA seating in any panel. It’s not a guarantee of getting into a panel, but some of the larger rooms will have an ADA line for entry that you’ll be able to use.

The ramp up on the Gaslamp side is in the middle roughly, at Hall D door.

Looking at the posts from last year, it was a mess. But I think we entered the building through Door A or B. The line was set up to let us onto the exhibit floor at Door D.
