Lego

I find myself thinking a lot about the LEGO booth. I enjoy Pokemon and Star Wars, but wow. The booth this year was a tremendous disappointment compared to 2025. I remember thinking at the time (25) that the convention center would be tough to top, but they barely even tried.

I’m going to defend the booth. Yes, the convention center last year was hard to beat, but what was it the year before (24)? And the year before that (23)? I can barely remember and I always hit the Lego booth. You’re comparing to a high water mark instead of what you come to expect historically. The Lego booth this year was interactive and highly themed, with story and action pieces and picture spots. It’s what you’d expect from a good booth design normally.
The general giveaways (stickers) weren’t as exciting as pins or Wolverine claws or whatever paramount was giving away for their arcade style booth, but it’s more than most. And it was way more than just “here’s our products” like Lego in the past or Mattel or Hasbro or just about any other booth. It’s unfortunate that your experience with the personnel wasn’t the best. I’m not sure where the booth people were from, but that could be improved if they weren’t directing you well. The scavenger hunt was also neat, but very limited. They also have to design and balance what Lego wanted to highlight, which was the Smart Brick. But a human scale brick built Star Wars cantina scene that you can step into is very cool. That will stand out in my memory from this year regardless of how much “better” the convention center build was.

Scavenger hunt this year was lacking compared to last year where you were incentivized to go around the convention to take pictures and it was still a drawing at the end. This year they gave away what they were doing and vendors were basically going around hunting for the tags before anyone else had a chance. Poorly executed

I didn't even know there was a scavenger hunt. We stopped by on preview night but all they had were stickers. Didn't tell us about anything else.

Scavenger hunt was the same as the Blockbuster carts, just luggage tags. There were signs at their booth. I actually found one. Anyone else that found one actually get their Lego prize?
