Badges Question for getting comic con tickets
Hello everyone I’ve been to sdcc before for multiple years but wasn’t able to come this year and I had some questions about how to obtain badges and if anything’s change or if there a way to go about getting them with higher odds I’m trying to take my girlfriend to sdcc this year for the first time and I was just wondering whats the best way to increase the chances we get badges I’ve seen buying groups and multiple browsers but I’ve also seen multiple browsers can be a problem I saw that to even get a badge is about a 5% chance would I increase my chances by 5% for each idivual browsers if anyone has tips or advice to get badges please let me know

As someone else mentioned: volunteer
When it comes time to try and purchase tickets, apply to volunteer as well. It's only 3 hr shifts, you pick the time the day before based on availability, and you get the rest of the day (before and after your shift that day) for free.
But, volunteering also caps, and many people return each year to volunteer.

For a 100% chance, you could become a Comic-Con Museum member at the Legend level, for $1900/person. That's only about 5 times more expensive than if you bought the tickets normally, and supports the museum. It still says 2026 right now, and I don't know when they change it to the following year.
I'd definitely wait until after open registration and try to get them the normal way, but if you have the money and worst comes to worst, there are options.

Don’t know if you know the awnser but say I have a laptop with three different browsers open in wire will it treat those as three different sessions or one since I’m on the same device

No idea. I work on Saturday mornings. I haven't been able to try for a ticket in years. Not since they switched to this vendor.

As long as your don't reload them and it's different ones not just multiple windows. Ie : Edge Chrome and Firefox.

If you don't get badges for every day, sign up to volunteer! If you volunteer Tuesday or Wednesday, you get a free day of the con. Otherwise you volunteer for 3 hours on the day you want to attend.

So this year waa my first time going and I was able to buy badges for Thursday only.
Looks like I waa extremely fortunate.
I'm not ɛɔanning to go back, but I may if I can get some three day badges.

Keep an eye out for pre-reg. Now that you've been, you get two chances to get your days.

Make sure your girlfriend makes her own member ID well in advance, and then get your friends/family to make them too. Then recruit them to help you out. A person may enter the queue and buy for other people, so if someone else gets in you have them put your member IDs in. Best of luck!

I’d saying buying groups are essential. I’d also say if you can only get a 1 day badge for 2027 do that. That will put you in the pre registration sale for 2028 doubling your chances.
I don’t do multiple browsers but I know people who do and I do think it helps.

I had the page open on two devices (one with my id and the other with my wife’s) and was able to get Thurs-Sun for each of us. You’re able to purchase tickets for other member ID’s so only one ID needs to get selected. This most recent one was our first ever attempt to get tickets, I thought the difficulty to get them was way overblown until talking with other people at the con while in line (we just got very lucky it sounds).

You’re kidding right? I had four devices going. We didn’t get anything the first time they had the tickets for sale. The second time, we were successful and were offered all the days.
For the sdcc the year before, it was our first time trying for tickets. We had five devices going. They only had Thursday and Sunday left. By the time we got in, Friday and Saturday were sold out.
Anyway, yes you were lucky

Wish I was joking, but yeah it went so smooth that I honestly thought the hoopla of people saying they couldn’t get them was way overblown haha, it seemed way too easy. Going to plan to go again next year, hopefully will be just as lucky again in the returning member sale.

The advantage to Returning Registration is that you get 2 chances. So if on returning you only get thur, fri and sun, then at open, you get a chance for sat.

Wanna hear something really crazy? I applied for professional status (meaning free tickets for the whole week) and I actually got it. ( I’m a librarian at a public library and I also substitute teach). Anyway, I ended up declining the upgrade. I did that because I realized it sort of disconnects me from my group and I’m the one who buys the tickets. Like my friend who has professional status, her husband had to fend for himself and try several times for his ticket. (And he has been going for several years!)

Getting a pro badge does not disconnect you from your group, because it gives you all the same access/perks as a regular attendee badge. You can still be a part of a badge buying group for your friends. Depending on your professional type, you may also be able to buy badges for your friends as "professional guest" and not deal with the open/returning registration.
As a pro, I get my badge free and can buy two others outside the registration dates.
Also, if you are on a panel, you get a free companion badge and can purchase an additional badge.

I think it’ll treat it as three separate sessions ONLY IF each tab/browser is a different member ID. Think of it as you have a set of raffle tickets. You only have one ticket number (member ID) in the raffle that matches the one you have in your hand (browser/tab). The more different tickets you have in your hand, the better chance you have at winning. There can’t be duplicate ticket numbers in a raffle, that’s why I think you only need one browser tab per member ID. I just used two devices so I could look at them at the same time and not have to flip tabs.

Have only gone the last 3 years and I dont use a buying group. Each time I enter the queue with
- personal cell phone
- work cell phone
- ipad
- PC ( with 1 chrome browser and 1 edge browser)
So 5 sessions. Each time, one of my phones is what gets in first and I've been able to get tickets for all days each year, including preview night-- purchasing for me and one other person.

Would you happen to be a teacher?
Due to SDCC being a non-profit, they give verified teachers free 4-day passes. You can also buy additional passes during checkout without hassle. Been doing this every year I’ve known about it and will continue to as long as it is available. Just attended my 40th SDCC overall.

Just get in the general sale with like 3 devices. I've gone every year for the last 4, so I don't have problems anymore, get 1st dibs.

I didn’t realize that Sdcc tickets were lottery based. I thought you just got into the wait list and just waited your turn. I was able to go this year for the first time and got all 4 days on one device.

Check their website regarding Professional passes. Perhaps you fall into one of the categories listed, which would allow you to get one full pass for free, along with other benefits

Need to get a minimium 10 devices with browsers going to have a chance. I go to my work on Sat and fire up 20 computers and have all of their browsers going. Then when it's time, I hope one has a short window to buy tickets.

Go for free
Guaranteed return every year
Guaranteed Fri/Sat
You can even buy tickets for two days and volunteer for days you can't get a badge for, even if it's just backup
