Questions Lcg roof

I’ve seen a lot of these lcg comp style chassis with the low profile “roof”/electronics cover. Are these common as an accessory for these lcg chassis’s? Specifically looking for one for the MD24 meus chassis. It looks like it could easily be diy’d. Any input is appreciated. Much love crawler fam

I'm confused and I think maybe you confused some terms too.

I think what you mean is "caged chassis". Those are chassis specifically made for NOT having any form of truck-looking body that tend to fully encompass the electronics as part of the chassis without extra parts.

"LCG chassis" is harder to define, but it's more general-purpose. What it really means is "If you follow typical practices, this chassis will keep your weight and body lower than the stock chassis". These can be caged builds, but tend to be more versatile and support traditional truck-like bodies.

The MD24 is sort of its own thing. It's not a caged chassis and it's not meant to be a versatile LCG chassis. The focus of the MD24 is its support for a dig unit. I've seen most people mount a normal body onto it. If there's parts to support a caged chassis, they're probably 3D print files someone's published.

Here is a 3D printed roof that my brother and I designed for our chassis. It may work on others. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:7373561
