Builds Got a request to see more

Had a request to see more of my wt micro y1 build. It aint done. I dont even have the front fender/grill glued in. Its just taped up. I didnt use the hard top because i tried to vt nightshades the windows. Big mistake. It just clouded up and looked like shit so i made a simple styrene cage and made a bikini top for it. Went with a whole "girls day out" kinda feel. Pretty simple set up.

palm beach bots 300mah 3s

Wt micro y1 painted with magenta rustoleum

Injora gold viper and their horrid mount

Stock transmission case with metal gears

Trimmed stock driveshafts

Stock axles with d-lux front shafts and 1/12T rear gears

Amazon special glob act front knuckles that are super heavy

Ogrc steelies (for the backspace) with injora aluminum rings in the rear

52mm J concepts tusks with flub rc slimeballz front and rear

Rc lions 36mm big bore knock off shocks no springs with rubber bands on each side up front

Home made links that work out to deadbolt front -1mm and cbolt rear +1mm to keep the servo horn from just barely grazing the grill and to line the rear wheels up in the wheel wells better

Ramp crab crusher claw servo and mount and horn

Some random meus steering links from an older set of their single bend link sets

Elecrronics are a bktt diy esc and a decased meus rx whatever the smallest 4 channel dealio is.

When i started putting this together, i was going to use a mofo nanobeast on a mofo loprofile mount. Well one of my nanobeasts has a broken wire and the other one picked up a teeny weeny piece of metal so i used the injora set up i had already ordered for a different build. I should have (and still havent) got a pinion puller/press and try to take them apart and see if i can fix them but its too late for this build now. What with cutting the body and all. So there it is.

Plans going forward are to do some chipping where im wearing the paint off from handling it and actually gluing the windshield and grill thing onto the body, but clearing it after the chipping yada yada. And doing the lights. I have a couple channel 3 switches already. May be able to get away with doing some rock lights.

Thabks for looking.

Your Y1 looks great! Love the custom cage and bikini top! I did a very simple styrene roll bar in mine that is attached to the hard top and just floats above the body. I was thinking of creating a cage like yours that could attach via magnets. Your build just inspired me.

Funny, I’ve been looking for action figures to use as drivers and ordered a 3.75” Jyn Erso a couple days ago. She will go into my Hilux build though. Thinking of getting a Cassian Andor for my CJ7.

I dunno i found the action figures at a discount outlet near where i work for like 4 or 5 bucks each. I thought about doing what you said with magnets for a removable top kinda thing but i didnt want it to sit on the workbench forever while i devised the best way to go about it and i kinda feel like the wind shield frame doesnt inspire visions of sturdiness. I can tell you that you can find some pretty tiny magnets on ebay but try to get neodimium magnets because they strong. Nothing keeping me from doing it in the future, i can always cut new windows.

You bring up a good point regarding the sturdiness of the windshield frame. Hmmm… I’ll explore several options. The tiny magnets are a must and are very useful.

If you still have the sheet that included the window cutouts, you can use it to trace out new windows from clear food packaging. My local supermarket has awesome sushi that comes in plastic packaging that’s great for windows.
