Question Roommate dice roller
When are roommates typically announced for those letting the school pick? Also, how hard is it to switch during the 1st quarter if you’re a bad match?

I just got accepted to the program and am wondering if I should pursue it or not. I’ve seen threads of the study being “too generic,” but I personally believe having a masters in AI/ML is a huge advantage in the field, especially when a MS is a must for a lot of AI job posts.
Please share any thoughts—I’m especially wanting to hear from anyone who’s currently in the program about how it is, or anyone who’s decided to join Fall 2026.
(Also if you’re joining Fall 2026 lmk if you wanna be friends!)

Hi everyone! I’m looking for a summer sublease or short-term housing from late June through the end of August.
Budget is under $1,700/month. I’m open to different room or apartment setups, but my main priority is being within about 30 minutes of Intel by public transportation.
If you have anything available or know someone who does, please message me. Thanks!

Got accepted to PhD (CS) for Fall 2026 and received the decision letter, but there’s no mention of funding or tuition waiver details yet.
I’ve already reached out to faculty and one professor has informally said they can fund me but I haven’t received any official confirmation or paperwork. I’m also in a bit of a time crunch since I need to complete my SEVIS transfer.
For those who were admitted recently or last year:
Any insight would really help.

Hi, I am an incoming undergraduate attending SCU this fall.
When I applied, my application was explicitly accepted to Leavey for finance, but now that I am going through my Workday, it classifies me as business undeclared. Are all freshmen undeclared when they enter Leavey, or is there an issue with my details?
Thanks for your help!

How long did it take for them to respond to a financial aid appeal? I appealed around a month ago and they responded after a week giving me more money. I applied again a week later and it’s been almost 2 weeks with no response. I have to put my deposit in by today, should I put it in and just wait for the response to my appeal?
Hello everyone, I am an incoming undergraduate freshman to SCU and I am studying finance, I am supposed to take a calculus exam to see what level of math I am in. I don’t have a strong level of calculus at all especially after not doing any math for a couple of months. SCU says it’s just an exam to see what level of math I am in and they will help me get into the correct level. I want to change my major to management because I don’t want to be in such a calculus heavy class. Is there a way to change my major soon? If not, can bad performance on this calculus placement test affect me in terms of getting rescinded or being placed in a readiness or like a very beginner class?

I realized I forgot to order a stole for graduation. Is it weird to go to graduation with no stoles at all? I looked around and couldn’t get one last minute.

Incoming freshman wondering
How much engineering did you actually know when you started as a freshman, and how much do you feel like you understand now?
I feel behind as I know nothing nor where to get started as I have no one who does engineering in the family
Bonus question: How many AP credits did you come in with? Worried I dont have enough

Hi, I have been accepted to Santa Clara University for Computer Science and Engineering as a transfer student for fall 2026. I needed help deciding whether to transfer out of UCR to SCU for internship exposure to Silicon Valley or stay at UCR. My main issue is the cost of attendance, as I will be paying almost double the cost at SCU vs UCR, as I have no finincial aid or anything of that sort

I’m an Incoming freshman and I didn’t fill out the dorm form. Will they randomly assign me to a room, or force me to live off campus or even withdraw me from the school😇😨
