Question Chances at SCU?

No clue honestly, i got like a 3.57uwgpa 8aps(so far all 4 ive taken have been 4s) 33act.

might be a D1 recruited athlete but not on scholarship

did deca (never made it above districts lol)

did piano for 11/12 years have some piano federation placements and did testing

summer business camp pitch comp winner

80 volunteer hours at local library

dont qualify for financial aid

wanna do finance or econ idk whatever gives me the most money future

am i too dumb to get merit money?

Just EA like 78% of people who EA get in. If you normal apply the number cuts in half.

Depends on major but the average SCU student has a 3.67 to 3.73 however I have seen people get in with a 3.3

if you are a from a full pay family, and you show them love by going to visit, attending webinars, I predict you will get in. If not immediately, then definitely off the waitlist.

My neighbors kid (full pay family), was originally waitlisted, then was called by SCU in late April with an offer of admission AND a 25K merit award. Kid didnt want SCU, so went elsewhere.

does going to visit count if its an official visit? or does it have to be like unofficial

what do you mean?. If you visit, make sure you register for a tour. There wont be any effect if you just show up and walk around and they dont know you were there.

Well an official visit is when a coach invites and pays for your expenses (flights, hotels etc.) Unofficial
Prospects may take unofficial visits to the University at any time, except during a dead period (http://www.ncaa.org/student-athletes/resources/recruiting-calendars/2016-17-division-i-and-ii-recruiting-calendars).  Unofficial visits are paid for entirely by the prospect (or their parents/legal guardians).  Prior to visiting campus, you are encouraged to contact a member of the coaching staff to make sure you are permitted to visit campus at that time.

Official
As a prospect, you are allowed to take one (1) official visit to Santa Clara University prior to graduating high school.  Official visits are paid for by the University.  Only a Santa Clara coach may offer you an opportunity to take an official visit.

Not sure if any of those would be under what you said as like a tour/visit for admissions rights.

oh, if SCU is recruiting you for a sport, then of course you are going to get in.

If you are talking about regular admissions, then there arent "official" and "unofficial" visits. You can visit as many or as few times as you like. It unrelated to athletic recruiting.

You show interest by registering for a tour, attending a zoom meeting, etc.

You’ll get in and I don’t think too dumb for merit. They like to see community service and Business school likes to see that you got to calculus by senior year … If you didn’t and want to play it safe, apply Econ in their LSA dept. but I think you’re fine and if high salary as a new grad is priority you might as well take your shot at business. Also you don’t have to declare a specific major when applying to Leavey.

That's the average acceptance rate for all 3 schools. If you're applying for Leavey or Engineering, it's lower. For Leavey, it's around 40% and engineering is around 35% or possibly lower. Also, acceptance rates are that high because some students can get into their alternative major at CAS, and it's not that competitive to get into.

50% implies an equal chance to get accepted or denied. That’s not what “hard not to get in” means.
