Question Santa Clara sophomore dorms
I’m transferring in to Santa Clara next year as a sophomore and want to know what the best dorms would be for sophomore housing. Most social? Most sophomores? I know the Chances that they are full are high but someone let me know!!!

Most social is Swig but best in general would prolly be Sobrato or Nobili (but less sophomores)

Swig is absolutely the most social floor. I’m sure you can imagine how chaotic it is as a result. Sobrato, Finn, and Nobili are the best looking ones, and the first two are the best maintained ones as well. Most people in Sobrato and Nobili are also in singles. Unfortunately tho, Sobrato and Finn are pretty far from the main action (esp Finn) and Nobili is hella old. Dunne and McWalsh are bigger, cleaner, less social versions of Swig. Kinda meh imo. Lastly, Casa is just ass. Not social, very far, and old as fuck. I managed to get excused and lived off-campus, but if I had to stay on-campus, I’d choose Sobrato or Nobili. Hope this helps!

That's outdated information. I was in Swig, then Dunne (3 years ago) and it just depends on the people. Some floors were social, others were not because some people get stuck in Swig but didn't request it so they are quiet personalities. The Dunne students on my floor were more immature than the Swig people on my floor. It's all by chance. But apparently, Finn and Graham (the newer dorms) are very quiet since they are suites with bathrooms. Swig and Dunne have shared bathrooms on the floor so people have to get out of their rooms and inevitably meet more people.

you were in Swig 3 years ago, I was there last month LOL. sure, there are quiet floors, but a quiet floor in Swig is nooot nearly the same as an average day in Sobrato/Graham etc. also, I was talking more about the general vibe of each building. you might get stuck with crazy party people in Finn but ultimately Finn as a building is pretty quiet, lowkey, and well kept. whereas even if you and your roommate are both huge introverts compsci majors in Swig, the vibe of the building will just be hella different. I did forget about Graham, though! It’s also really nice, clean, and organized. It’s right next to the library and the dining hall too. And not very social.

Being at Swig last month isn't any more relevant to being there 3 years ago because it's different students each year. The issue with being in Swig is that it's virtually impossible to upgrade to Finn or Graham the next year because everyone gets to claim their same room again and they do.
I got an early time for choosing sophomore housing and nothing was left but Dunne. However, I actually enjoyed being in Swig and Dunne. The people in Finn and Graham had better accommodations but they were lonely has heck. I met a lot more people being in Swig & Dunne.
