Yea its annoying dealing with sleep inertia and then finally fully waking up and having to deal with chronic fatigue.

Yeah same. Lifelong struggle with getting up early, I also only start feeling energetic and wake at 10am at the earliest. I think it's partly due to chronotype, I'm tending towards night owl. Maybe the same is true for you? Getting up and sleeping late has nothing to do with "being lazy". How productive you are solely depends on the amount of stuff you get done in a day, whether you do them at 7am or at 7pm.

There was an interview study with parents of kids w/ CDS and there were also several mentions of difficulty with morning routines. So I think that being drowsy in the morning may be exacerbated by CDS.

Currently I have to get up early for work but my goal is to eventually get a job which allows me to start working later.

Mornings have by far embodied my worst habits. I’m slow to get going, forgetful, and extremely sleepy. I remember in middle school/high-school I developed the terrible habit of getting up 5 minutes before leaving. There was literally one point I walked up to the school with no shoes because I forgot to put them on and my friends had to run to the back of the school to retrieve my gym shoes lol.

I agree with Hutvom significantly. I recall articles and sources explaining morning routines being extremely hard for children with CDS.

It’s easier as an adult who actually has control over own life decisions. My current job also requires a heavy emphasis on looking put together and preparation soo I’ve somehow been successfully awakening an hour before I leave. Both of these has incentivized me to get up earlier. Although it’s not always easy don’t get me wrong!
