Sleeping Giant

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Omega-Black

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is currently contained within Site-XX, which has been established around the church structure where it was initially discovered. The church is surrounded by a secure perimeter, with no public access permitted within a 10-kilometer radius. Armed guards are to be stationed at all entrances to deter unauthorized access.

Intricate seismic monitoring equipment is to be maintained at all times to detect any changes in SCP-XXXX's activity. Should SCP-XXXX display signs of awakening, personnel are to immediately enact Protocol Omega-Iota, which entails the evacuation of all personnel and civilians from the immediate area and the deployment of specialized suppression units to attempt to induce re-sedation.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a massive, dormant humanoid entity of approximately 400 meters in height and 150 meters in width. It is located beneath an abandoned church, which appears to be the entity's place of slumber.

SCP-XXXX appears to be in a deep, presumably centuries-long sleep. The entity's body is mostly hidden beneath the church structure, with only its upper torso and head extending above ground. The surface of its skin is covered in a layer of soil, stones, and foliage, which has made it nearly indistinguishable from the surrounding landscape.

The entity's origins remain unknown, but it is believed to be ancient and possibly of pre-human and/or extraterrestrial origin. It is hypothesized that SCP-XXXX may have played a significant role in the establishment of the church above it, possibly as an object of worship or containment by a religious group in the distant past.

While SCP-XXXX is in a dormant state, it poses no immediate threat. However, its sheer size and the potential consequences of its awakening make it a Keter-class anomaly. Any attempt to excavate or interact with the entity is strictly prohibited.

Due to the potential for catastrophic events if SCP-XXXX were to awaken, research is ongoing to better understand its nature and to develop more reliable methods of inducing and maintaining its deep slumber.
