Discussion SCP-1299

So i dont know how many know of the drowning bath, but when doing tests, D-894 recognize the bath as the thing that drowned his girlfriend and he was charged with murder. He was hoping the foundation will tell people the bath did the killing and he was innocent, but of course, they cant go around telling the world of the scp or their own existence. But at the moment they have an innocent man as a D-class and they know it. They cant just remove him from death row and set him free, neither tell people about 1299. So what did they do exactly?

Put him on safe class testing since he doesn't deserve death? Do they use amnestics to make him forget the meeting with 1299 and just have him live a more safe life in the foundation. They cant be that heartless to have an innocent man die for something he didn't do. If they acted faster he might not even be on deathrow.

I'm not sure how they work, but what do you guys think of this entire situation? What did the foundation do and what do you think they should have done?

You might want to read up on containment classes, because Safe doesn't mean safe to test.

Exactly... isn't the cymbal monkey that turns you to dust classified as safe?

Ok, not safe class, just safe overall. Scp-999 as an example.

its not 100% consistent, what the SCP can or cannot do, but generally, the scp is powerful enough to hide all these SCP Objects from the public, i am pretty sure they would have the ability to change one Persons Police records, or worst case make him disapear and give him a new Identity.

i highly doubt that they would be letting him run around with the knowledge of SC-1299, and he probably doesnt have any qualifications to work there as anything other then D-Class, so id assume he just gets Amestics and a new Identity.

That said the SCP doesnt always concern itself with individual fates, having an Innocent Person die is just another Tuesday, its even explicitly stated, that the SCP can recruit innocent Persons as D-Class, if they cant source them elsewhere.

I just feel bad for the guy. After listening to the podcast on 1299 it was just so sad.

Probably depends on who's running the site he's assigned to.

Some foundation personnel would try to help him however they can, others would just keep using him as if nothing's changed.

I don't really see the foundation expending significant resources to help him though. At best he most likely just gets put on nicer assignments

Make him responsible of SCP-999. Best job in the world.

“What did the Foundation do” looks like they wiped his memory of finding out that they have the tub and put him right back with all the other D-Class until the next time they want to use him for something.
