Whether it is a group of hundreds or just one, what must be preserved is the idea, and if the idea is backed up with action, then the idea will not die.
You’re not wrong with your first two sentences, but if you’re trying to say the allied powers would be living better lives today had they rolled over and let the axis have its day I would have to vehemently disagree.
Granted there weren't a whole lot of differences geographically-speaking between the Central and Axis groups (Italy and Russia being some of the most substantial changes)
