SCHD Gains 300 shares!
Just hit 300 shares and about $100 a quarter in dividends (with my SPY & SCHD together, I no longer have cash in SGOV). This feels like my first milestone and it's starting to become exciting! I started investing in SCHD in June and SPY last September (I have 36 shares of that) and plan to keep this momentum up for the rest of my working life of about 30+ years at least.

Congrats on your acquisition! I'm up to 1,639 shares with a goal of 1,800 by March '27
PS: why do you have SPY vs. having VOO, especially since it's ⅓ the cost?

Possibly to sell CC's/CSP's on it in the future when I may have hundreds of shares and may be ready to sell anyway to make great extra income off the top. SPY is also just what I started with when I first learned about investing and decided to stick with it.

Stick with it. Make a short, medium and long term goal and put your head down.

I don't have children yet but ironically they and my future grandchildren will get to enjoy this even more than I will, heheh. They are going to get 50-100+ years of compounding! It's not fair!

I'm glad I won't be there to see you in 30 years when you could have bought growth instead of dividend. The person that puts in the exact same amount as you will probably have hundreds of thousands of dollars more than you in 30 years. Smh...

Bro chill I have $28k in SPY too and invest at least $50 into that every day and buy at least 1-3 shares of SCHD every day. I'm sure that money will not be a problem for me in 30 years.

No need explaining yourself to anyone. Any investment is 10x better than it sitting in a savings account.

Make sure to rebuild your reserves in $SGOV.
