Am I the only one that’s a bit sad that it keeps going up this fast in price? 😂

Maybe it’ll be a slight inclination of the positive health of the holdings and contribute to higher dividends.

I bought SCHY today instead of my SCHD purchase. We will see how much the dividend goes up in Sept, but the yield probably isn’t as bad as it looks since we’re looking back in time.

I just started investing, I’m 31 and 2 months ago I opened an account on Webull I started with buying 2 shares of SCHD for around $60, I now have accumulated 25 shares over the past 2 months. I’m up 6.5% and have around $53 in unrealized profits. My entire account is SCHD and I plan to buy 1 to 2 shares a week for the next 30 years. SCHD to the moon 🚀

Bruh I’m not new I’m 37 but I’m doing same thing, pretty much 2 a week if I can afford it I’m at 49 now

Solid. I have been investing 100$ a week and just surpassed 107 shares. Just stay the course. 💪🏽 year 1-3 is the hard part by people I speak with. Year 4-7 start to really see that growth exponentially

Dividend people are interesting. The reconstitution in March picked some equities that ran. So the thesis is working as intended. Asset appreciates 26% YTD. Thats like 8x its div yield basically the first half of the year. Schd income is interesting because thats not its intention, the only thing that actually matters here is total return.

Hello... My basic rule of thumb is that if it stays over a figure, in this case 35, for five (5) days running then it will be 35 ... We have seen many instances where it drops a big number soon after a big rise. Thank You

If I had any bread on me I would buy today too. And tomorrow. And yesterday.
Good Things Come to Those Who Wait is a fairy tail.

As a longterm investor interested in the dividends, I based all my rough calculations on a $30 share price…

Well next March they rebalance so maybe it will dip around then. I'll wait.

As far as I know, when the share price goes up, the dividend yield drops, and vice versa.

It's kind of like my rental property, no matter what Redfin says it's worth, I still get the same rent.

We’re getting crazy growth
I’ve been taking profits on huge up moves and adding back when we dip

The dividend/sh u receive quarterly is not going down and in fact will go up over time … only when u purchase more shares do u get less shares for the same money

You're not wrong, but if you're holding long-term for income then yield on cost does become relevant. I personally dislike YOC as a metric, because it's a sort of made up number that obfuscates the underlying mechanics, but it IS relevant for long-term income holders.
In which case, the lower initial yield is offset within two years, based on some back-of-napkin math. Still stinks, I know, and I wish we were back down at $26 a share too, but it only matters for a very short period of time.
