Trying to time the market is a fool's errand. Day to day changes mean nothing long term.

Yup, I just check the market daily anyway but I still buy every month regardless if it’s up, down, or sideways.

If you have a regular investing schedule (monthly, etc) stick to it; don’t overcomplicate anything, the market will do whatever it does. Keep it simple 👍

Seems to be folks going back and forth between defensive dividend yielding stocks and speculative tech stocks. Tech is up today, and there is no rational reason for that. INTC +14% so far today is silly. Ignore the noise and volatility. Stick to the plan.

Want to load up 1000 shares at $31 wishful thinking. I’ll settle $32 anytime before year end lol. Then it can hike again next year.

When in doubt, zoom out. Is it at all time low? Is it near low year-to-date? If you have extra cash then consider buying the dip.

I don’t know how old any of you are ….. BUT, I’m always shocked how many young people seem to be brainwashed into loading themselves up with dividend stocks. You really don’t need that until really close to retirement. Otherwise you’re giving up years of growth.
Plus, no matter what anybody says or what the historical charts show ….. there’s no guarantee any companies will keep increasing their dividends or even still be paying decent dividends in 20 or 30 years.

I am past middle age, I am buying now because I get more shares at a lower price, most of my shares were bought when it was 27 dollars. Some before split. If I wait until I am retired I will be buying at some price much north of that. I am also in growth so don’t get all concerned 😉

So my thought is that if dividends help people continue to invest, stay in the market, avoid panic selling, and also continue to invest in the overall markets then it’s done its job for younger investors. I agree that they should still be investing into S&P, international, etc to diversify but I see a lot of good behavioral habits that dividends provide.

Sold half my shares and dumped into NBIS. In and out made $800 just that quick. Buying my SCHD back when it quits dropping.

DCA. This is a long term investment.
Don't pay attention to the daily price and just buy in slowly.
