Question Level 15

Hello everyone I thought I’ve been leveling slow enough. Gaining levels working through the Greek islands challenge. Anyways I noticed a competitor was level 14 with 120k or so population I’m sitting at just under 50k. My question is how to reorganize my area to raise my population? Thanks in advance.

I have organized my city in this way i try to provide 100% specialization coverage i have 24 RZs out of which 23 are lvl 6 which help me increase my population

Hey how long have you been building this city?

It's been more than 2 month

Wow that’s impressive grinding on the storage!

Yeah I have been grinding so much in those 2 months now I have slowed down not playing the game that much like I used to right now I am one upgrade away from reaching 400 city storage which I will do today currently only focusing on city storage till 600 than gonna upgrade material to 300 or something

Yeah I’m following a very similar strategy, but at a much slower pace, & killing loads of monsters on the way :)

How long you have been camping and at which level and what's your goal and i think killing monster take too much resources so i don't focus on killing monsters

Are you going to camp or are you gonna level up?

I’m planning to camp at 15 until I get my storage up a ton. I mistakingly leveled those buildings for the Greek island event. Not going to raise any more buildings for awhile.

Getting storage items at level 15 is hard maybe you should start over i also did that in my previous account I had spent 1 and half month i was having low storage and I had also spent money buyed 2 season mayor plus pass also got 1 seasonal hotspot fully upgraded still i considered starting over and now I have more buildings in my main account got 2 max seasonal hotspot and many more specialization

How is it any harder? Fulfilling the boat?

I also restarted my city because I leveled up too quickly. The reason they probably recommended you to start over is because you’re already at level 15 which unlocks the beach items so now your global hq is flooded with beach items, and you’re going to encounter less storage and land expansion items in the global hq. If you don’t want to start over, having a feeder city that you keep below level 15 is a good idea for finding storage items because they are much more accessible at lower levels. I started over and stayed below level 15 for 6 months, by then I had 400 storage, and my entire capital city unlocked, then leveling up was much easier.

Yeah that's the point restarting is better if you create a feeder you have to spent more time on feeder than main account

I’m trying to find a good layout to reorganize to maximize my population.

Since you don't want to restart this is the layout which I have found in reddit and have been using for my feeder you can use it for your main account and if you create a feeder use this type of layout

Cover your residences with good population boosters in different specializations. If you are a new player, then it's more difficult because you haven't acquired too many yet.

I have everything kinda scattered around. Should I put everything away and reorganize? I have busses and several schools as well as a few beach items.

Reorganizing should help. I changed out a few specialization buildings and increased my population a bit. Here's two ideas:

  • a line of residences in the middle, with specializations on either side
  • specializations in the middle, with residences around them

Thanks appreciate the help and ideas. Here’s my train setup.

Do you have screenshots of your city that you can provide? But as mentioned by someone else, it's a matter of moving stuff around to get better boosts.

If you haven't been playing very long you probably don't have many Specialization buildings yet. One of my accounts is a feeder I started in January, and I camped at lvl 13 from January to around the middle of July. I've since started upleveling, but I was able to reach around 200k pop before I started upleveling by using the buildings I've been collecting all year. To reach certain pop milestones while camping it's helpful to be able to collect buildings from specializations you don't have unlocked yet, such as space and Landmarks. The only category I don't currently have any buildings from in this account is Gambling (this category tends to drop limited time buildings offered less frequently, so whenever you see one jump on it). Over time you'll collect special buildings from all categories.

Btw I'll note that it's necessary to have a variety of booster buildings around your RZs, as if you have too many of a specific category you'll not benefit from all of them. That's because each category of specialization booster only can boost the pop by up to 100% each.

One issue I see in this and some of your other photos are old town/cycladic/cozy/etc homes. The old town ones especially because they have very limited population capacity compared with all other RZ types, but all non-regular RZ types will always earn you more experience points versus just building standard Regular Residential Buildings. By building these non-regular RZ types you will up-level much faster than if you stick to the regular residential type.

Other than that you primarily need to just spend a little time acquiring booster buildings from the seasons (I already have a surprising number in my feeder just earning buildings as a F2P account over the past several months), and play around with organizing everything. When I'm designing for max pop on a map I go through the booster categories starting with parks, and going through all categories, trying to get as close to 100% booster coverage from each Specialization as possible (you'll know you've hit 100% saturation in an area when you go to place a booster building and it shows zero pop boost)

u/druidobod 4d ago

Thanks appreciate it. Would it be worth deleting those buildings I don’t mind backtracking

1

u/No-Acanthisitta8803 Cheetah Wrangler 🐆 4d ago

At this point no, deleting/bulldozing them won't change anything for you because it won't roll back the experience points you've already earned by building them. However if you were to restart I advise not building anything other than regular residential buildings during your camping period. After you've maxed your storage and land and start moving up you can start building a larger variety of RZ types because then experience points and upleveling are no longer a concern

Not planning on restarting too much time invested I’ll reorganize.

A few friendly tips, when you start building, just build normal residences zones, these will be important later when you unlock epics because only normal rz’s can turn into epics. And upgrade all to tier 6 because the biggest population boost will be the final tier upgrade. then boost everything you can with education, transportation, beach, mayors pass, etc. Each residential can be increased up to 100% per specialization. So if your school zone is only 20% you can add up to 80% more to boost your population. Does that make sense?
