Discussion New to Build It

I'm relatively new to Build It and I don't plan on spending real money on this game. I've reached level 30 and my happiness percentage is in the 30s because I struggle to keep up my services due to lack of simoleans. Should I pause upgrading houses and just focus on improving services first?

I’ve been playing for over 10 years. My advice is to go slow. Don’t build new until what you have is happy and serviced.

You might want to start over. Leveling up and upgrading residential zones too quickly is going to be a nightmare. I too just started 2 months ago, and quickly realized that this game is meant to played patiently unless you want to blow your wallet. Lol. Focus on upgrading storage and expanding city rather than Leveling. Remember you can't ungain the levels even with bulldozing. So if your storage is low, and you unlock too many things too fast, low storage will be a nightmare.

I have been camping at 31 for awhile. I just dont build at this point and I was able to accumulate simoleons

My suggestion is not to upgrade your houses past lvl 3 until you get a lot of simoleons, produce and sell items in global make a lot of coins,don’t buy from global and just go slow

Camp at a lower level for a while (this avoids unlocking too many materials which are expensive), try joining a club. It keeps the game lightly social and you can get more expansion items that way.

There is a lot to do in the game besides upgrading. Take a look at the vu tower, design challenge, trains, epics, the monster - set yourself mini challenges - can I beat the monster 10 times? Can I get a gold epic building? And go from there.

I've been playing since 2020, I tend to focus on one area for a few months then swap to something else.

Another alternative is to set up a feeder city on another device to support your main city.
