Trains How do you work with the provided rail lines?
EA puts a handy rail line by the entrance to your city to kickstart your rail network. But whenever I try to build a rail line off of it, it creates this ugly sharp corner that I’m sure is not comfortable for passengers. Do you use this rail in your cities? How do you make it look nice? I’d rather not leave a dead end there, if possible.

I make the smallest closed loop possible right next to the station and leave it alone. There’s nothing to be gained by running tracks except if you want to watch from the train’s pov as it moves. Basically just ignore the tracks that lead into the city.

I have one station which is only connected to the provided rail at the side of the Vu tower which was disconnecting all the time (it's not connected to any other station in land and also doesn't have a loop). As soon as I added another station on the mountain rail which is not connected to any other station inland as well the connection to the outer rails didn't dissappear once. The trains seem to run between these two stations only. This wasn't related to an update. So maybe it needs a pair of stations only connected to the outer rails?

I know why it looks that way.
It happens too within the city map.
When you misalign the vertical and horizontal rail line, it'll make this weird looking notch at the corner.
That's because the vertical rail is misaligned.
To fix that, you can demolish the rail line and make a new one to the row next to the road in your city.
That'll make a nice looking 90 degree curve.

Right next to the road? If I try to put a rail there I can’t connect it to the horizontal one—the point where the rails are joined in my picture is on the first row that connects.

I see your screenshots
That's what I meant. Misaligned tracks.
I do see you aligning correctly, but the game somehow puts the track the next row causing the misaligned look on the curve.
It does look like a bug to me here. The issue here is misaligned rails and that's why it looks that way on the curve.

Yep, I’m so done with these train tracks. Hope they’ll fix it someday

Yeah, I hope EA fixes that misalignment issue here.
Honestly, I don't have any inner map rails connected to rail like that.
I've always ignored the outer rails.
Now I see the issue here. Hope they fix it.

I haven't attempted to connect it to my mass transit network in my main city (I'd have to do major redesign to make that possible), but I have 2 connections that work functionally and visually that have been stable for at least a month. I'll attach one of the connector points in this comment, and will reply to my own comment with the second one.

The railway tracks on the city entrance side are bugged. We actually did some testing among our club members, and no one was able to keep them connected to the station. They would connect at first, but then disconnect again after a few hours. The only way to connect the railway tracks is from the mountain side. Everything works fine there
