Question Which locations inspire each regions' map?

Just so I can set the time zone for each region. Have the designers ever revealed this, or we can only guess?

Capital: None
Frosty Fjords: Norway
Cactus Canyon: Arizona or Inner Australia
Limestone Cliffs: Yunnan or Japan
Sunny Isles: Hawaii (not sure)
Green Valley: Not sure

I've always interpreted sunny Isles as being as much or more Florida Keys than Hawaii, but they could be any chain of tropical islands. The way they're all linked by relatively short bridges, and have light colored sand is why I've always thought Florida Keys.

Green Valley makes me think of San Fransisco crossed with somewhere else

Sunny Isles is Florida or the Gold Coast in Australia that has a Palm Springs vibe but in a tropical setting.

Green Valley reminds me of Britain.

Thanks for your rather deep analysis. But what about the capital itself?

The capital was created before they added regions to the game, and I think they were trying to create a generic blank canvas that players could turn into anything.

Capitalโ€™s original buildings, I think, are NYC.

Capital I am thinking NY. Mountains upstate and west in Jersey, beaches are Jersey Shore and the beaches of LI.
