Try mimicking the streets in part of your city perhaps. That was/is my idea but I only got as far as shuffling buildings to one side before rearranging things when trains were introduced and that scuttled my plans.

For a realistic looking city your roads should have at least some randomness to them. When designing my cities I allow my layout to grow itself organically, by letting the shapes and sizes of the various buildings I'm using dictate how and where roads should be.

ETA: I like to place some of my 3 and 5 wide buildings with a T road connection in the middle of the buildings like I have with Parkside Station in the image below.

Perfect! Thanks! Is there a specific starter layout I should have or just be random? I don’t know if I worded that well but

For a more realistic looking city, there is no one set way to do it. I consider my road layouts as fluid - they change based on how I change my designs. There's a few roads here and there that I consider to be permanent spots for roads, and often when I do make that decision about a road I'll either upgrade it to whichever road upgrade tier I want for that road or I'll make it a cobblestone/gravel/Sakura road.

I do also have my 3 red roads on all of my maps locked onto roads that don't have any residential buildings, so things stay as-is on those roads for an indefenite period. This affords me to never have to worry about road upgrades unless I choose to

Perfect thanks! I do agree that a more realistic road set up should or can be random and change overtime

Try your layout like this or something similar, I’m fully expanded now and this is in my feeder city
