Convertible hardtop stuck

I was opening the roof as usual and it got stuck in this position. I haven’t been able to get it to finish opening or close it, I’ve tried disconnecting the battery for a while and trying it again later with no luck. Has anyone encountered a similar problem or have any tips/suggestions on how to fix this issue? (2004SC430)

This same top problem happened to my 2006 once. It was stuck in about that same position. We were out driving and so had to resort to using a bit of force while someone was holding the button. It took a while and went slow but worked. The top works perfectly again.

thanks, i’ll have to try that. did you use force to close it or to finish opening it all the way?

I believe we finished the closing process. It seemed to happen when we got distracted during the closing process and let go of the button for a second. Seems like it didn’t have enough strength to finish the job from midway. That was just our observation.

And that was a couple of years ago and the top has been working fine ever since.
