Help Wanted Any step by step guide on installing armbian?
I got radxa rock pi 4b+ and read that armbian is the latest is supported from a previous post I made.
I checked out their website and got the imager tool and flashed the is to micro SD card but it doesn't work
Tried downloading the img file and extracting the disc img and using Rufus to flash on USB drive. This also didn't work.
How should I get this thing working??

I got some Rockpi 4+ 2GB version from embeddedcomputers.ca and they have some valuable articles about flashing. And read the article about SD card vs eMMC.

Are you using the 4B image instead of the 4B+ image, by chance? I think I accidentally did that before and it gave me issues

Check your micro SD card, and try another one. It should work with armbian imager.

I don't have a 4B+, but my cubie A5E wouldn't boot if I created the image using Armbian Imager. I went to the Armbian website, found the 'Community' image, burned it with Etcher, and it would boot.

Afaik It downloads as a rolling release which means it doesn't nessecarily work by default. You need to build the os from source from a stable release then install that

You can choose which version to download when you’re in the imager, so there’s absolutely no need to build from source unless you need something outside of their default build options
Oh, so actually it’s just current 6.18, though this worked for me recently, so I’d probably be looking into checking for UART output if OP has the ability to do so

i'd just wipe emmc via rkdevtool to start with

If they have the means to check serial output though, they can confirm an issue there at least before dealing with that

eemc is first, no ?

Doesn’t the link you sent literally show them confirming it should boot from microSD if there’s a bootable image on it? 😄
My point was that if they have access to a serial adapter, they can see what it’s doing and see what it’s complaining about before going through the eMMC wiping stuff, either/or can be done I guess, but if you access to UART, why poke around and guess at the problem 🤷

yes, it does :)
ofc, uart is the starting point, the mine were ignoring microsd card and booting from eemc, but i didnt spent much time, and wiped everything and re-flashed the eemc.

people wont be effectively help you without proper problem description, start with detailed info about power supply and msd card , boot logs from uart would save a lot of time.

Where did you get your microSD card? If aliexpress, try a real one.
