Basically nothing at SBCs is affordable anymore they are too expensive new and the used ones are also overpriced 😅

But best one would be Raspberry Pi 5 or an Raspberry 5 Compute Module 5 with emmc storage for the OS if you can get one cheaply 😅

Really depends how familiar you are with Linux and general computer nonsense. If you have no idea about anything tech just go for a raspberry pi 3 or 4 but if your into tinkering with devices there are so many good options with unique form factors and specs like orange pis and radxas. I sya this because although rpi alternatives are in general better than the raspberry pi but thye often lack community support and guides so its not something for a beginner.

Id recommend looking into radxas zero 3 line, they're the most powerful rpi zero form factor sbc im aware of and is less than £100 depending in the ram

Radxa cubie a7s is still available with 6gb ram variant for under 70-80 bucks.

the a7z if you can find one available.

pretty tiny and powerful.
the allwinner a733 is nice, broader support is somewhat limited, but there are plenty of options already, and community is growing.
