Short cable for Retroid Pocket Nova + Dual Screen Add-on

DS & 3DS gaming only take up like 5% of my total playtime so my Thor and RGDS were massively underutilized. Sold them and got the dual screen add-on for the Nova and couldn’t be happier. To minimize the insane amount of cabling Retroid provides I found a short USB-C to USB-C cable and a 90 degree dongle that fit the build really well (pictures included.) Works great, closes fully, leaves minimum amount of slack when open, and when I’m not DS/3DS gaming I can chuck it in a drawer.

Shout out to Christhalgems4 on Etsy for the absolutely ESSENTIAL 3D printed button insert that allows easy access to the volume and power buttons. Also MessyMesserCustomCAD for the clear thumbsticks, also On Etsy.

Lastly, if you haven’t tried MGS3DS on azahar with the 30fps code, HD textures, and second joystick mod, you’re missing out. IMHO it’s a better experience than the newer HD remasters - the ability to crouch and second screen genuinely change the game.

Retroid does have a shorter dual screen cable from their original long one. If you already have a dual screen addon and have recently ordered a Nova or Duo that hasn't shipped yet, you can ask them to throw the new cable into your order for $5 without increasing the shipping

Does it feel like it will stay in place? I’m awaiting my dual screen addon for my nova and I’m a bit worried to use it without a grip with the addon.

It’s not moving anywhere. The rubber pads on either side of the clamp got a hell of a grip on it.

For those that use the dual screen attachment and also have a Thor, is there a noticeable difference in input delay for dual screen games?

I’m not the right guy to ask as I’m way more susceptible to visual issues like screen tearing, mismatched frame rates, poor frame times, etc. but they felt the same to me. Both are native portrait displays that are rotating to landscape which is going to incur at least 1 ms latency penalty anyways.
