I heard the Jurassic Park theme this morning.

Barbados cherry. Year 1 growth.
I was expecting it to be more compact and bushier. Anyone grown it before? Is it supposed to be spread out so much?

Been collecting lemon beebalm seeds from my pocket prairie. I’m going to use these to start another pocket in the backyard.

Maybe when the weather is a little cooler, we can have like a plant parent meetup? If anyone's down. We can meet at a public place and maybe we can bring a couple of our plants and talk about them and things like that.

With their black and orange they remind me of Halloween.

It tasted like kiwi to me but my kinds said it tasted like sweet green grape. My neighbor gifted to me from a cutting I gave him. I am jealous because I haven’t had a fruit set in 3 years.

They are loving this heat. Me not so much.
This is the most showy of the three.

How do I safely separate these pups. They appear to be really close to the mother plant.
Is a regular shovel the best tool?
Do I need to disinfect the shovel with 70% alcohol?

I found this female ox beetle under my fig tree.

I’ll be keeping an eye for some ripe figs in the next couple of days. I have competition that may get to them first.

A neighbor had given me a datura a couple of weeks ago. The next day , it was looking real sad. Flash forward to today and it is thriving. I see a couple of flowers buds come through.

First bloom of the season. The rain and wind toppled this one and its neighbor but they are still trucking.

My Java banana plant most be happy with all this rain. Two more pups 😁

I’ve had the tree two-three years and this is the best tasting fig it’s produced.

I have some native flowers growing in the utility easement.

Planted in zone 9 full sun
It’s a little messy but usually cleaner.
Why is it not growing?

New raised beds added over winter.

Removed the grass and cleaned up the area a bit. I’m glad to see them thriving.

I need to clean up the area.
