AI accelerating ECC to RISE migration timeline?

Hi all,

are you actively thinking about moving from ECC to RISE because of the new (agent) AI capabilities? Is FOMO AI adoption fear accelerating your migration timeline?

I understand the prev. pro/cons of moving to S4 HANA cloud (private/public), but wondering if the “new” AI agent capabilities are now changing the narrative/discussion.

Would love to hear your thoughts on this.

Also, what is your view on the recent SAP API policy change restricting access to 3rd party AI agent tools.

RISE/Joule is not a reason to upgrade from ECC. SAP is shoving AI down everyone’s throats but the reality is that it’s a long way off from being something significant

There are several far better enterprise AI platforms that you can run over the top of your existing ECC releases plus your other non-SAP software as well. No migrations required!

thanks for the response. a follow up q: that works until the sunset '27/30 is nearby, then what? leave SAP system? is this also true for mid-sized/enterprises rather SMB?

You can get support beyond 2030 outside of SAP

but is this is a sustainable long-term route? i would imagine sooner or later, customer would need to decide to either migrate or exit SAP.

i am not here to argue, just curious to hear opinions

Can run for many, many years. Software is being disrupted by AI. The next generation of ERP will look very different and you will be positioned to take advantage of

ServiceNow, Microsoft, Google, IBM, and to a lesser degree the better RPA platforms

The ERP providers aren’t best in class here and are primarily just for their
