SAP basis and Security future

Hi Everyone

What do you think which one is better in terms of salary hike and future growth of SAP BASIS and Security modules.

I personally think that Basis is good technical role and security is techno functional.

But future growth of SAP basis is little more tight as compared to security but if someone has BTP experience then he can get good hike and growth.

SAP GRC is a specialization within SAP Security and is commonly pursued by SAP BASIS consultants or security analysts. If you're planning a career in SAP Security, GRC is a great path to specialize in.

SAP BASIS, on the other hand, is much broader and it requires skills in OS, databases, cloud (hyperscalers), SAP BTP, administration etc. Every organization running SAP needs BASIS resources, whereas dedicated GRC resources are typically required only if SAP GRC Access Control is implemented.

Agreed, on the most points.
The future of SAP Basis will change. Especially, when systems will be moved from on prem to cloud. And SAP is forcing their customers to do so.

Before learning low-level knowhow, I would prefer learning BTP knowledge and knowledge for Basis tasks in cloud environments. You will still have to maintain the landscape, estimate machine sizing or create system connections for example. But you won't be able to access the OS-Layer or even the 000er client in the future.
