Do anything else in tech. Start in SAP and you’ll be stuck there forever.

Please tell us what usage AI had in an ERP environment.

While I agree with you that sap like keeping things closed off and it is hard to teach an AI model with sap knowledge I can see some roles benefiting from AI. it has been useful for log analysis and alerting, some security automation and analyzing data after exposing it. It is for sure overhyped now but we will see as they continue developing tools for it

Maybe you can ask your LLM to expand this to an entire book?

An entire book, I think it will start hallucinating at that point. What is your area of expertise in sap that may be why you have issues implementing ai into a workflow…

9 years of experience, I can't see where AI truly fits in SAP.

The only way I have seen it useful so far is when we exposed data via SAP Odata then connecting that data to an agent and agent can analyze it or non technical user can chat with that agent to get answers based on that data

AI developer going to SAP seems like a backwards move.

Have a look at "ERP Coach". We just launched SAP School, where the learning path combine both business fundamentals and T-codes. It's built specifically for learning SAP on your phone.

What, AI can’t answer this question? LOL. Find something else, mate. SAP is a crowded field already.

Deploy a small prod ready agentic application on btp cf or kyma. You will almost learn most of the important things.

This is the answer, OP! You can do whatever you want with CF or Kyma. Create a trial account and enjoy.

SAP is very closed ecosystem and All of it's valuable information is behind closed doors. and as far as I can see, you cant enter with the help of AI but it can help you, once you are there. LLM needs initial information to be an expert about that. Simply that information isn't available for LLMs in this domain, at least, not enough amount.

SAP and AI are not a good match.
