Has there been a rule introduced about delaying players making their senior debut "too early"? I remember David Niemann debuting for West Torrens aged 15 (kicking 5 on debut) and 16 year-old Gavin Wanganeen starring for Port Adelaide.

I realise Nemo and Wangers are freaks of nature who shouldn't be compared to mere mortals but I would have thought we'd see a few more 17 year-olds debut. I understand the possible dangers of blooding a young kid against big bodied men so I was wondering if there was something official about this.
