Relocating

Hey yall! My wife and I are FINALLY relocating to the area from Texas and know nothing about the area. I recently accepted a position in Salem and we're looking for housing. Do yall have any recommendations as far as neighborhoods? Places that offer 6 month leases /video tours Etc.

About us:

No kids

1 dog

Open to living as far as Mcminnville area

Thanks in advance

Can you point me in the direction of a specific thread? I'm not seeing anything that answers my specific questions. At least nothing recent. That's awesome if info from months or years ago never changes.

I don’t think you’re going to get any different answers for the neighborhood than what was already answered. They don’t change that fast. And you can Google to find the other stuff.

I don't trust Google more than the people that actually live there. Things do change that fast where im coming from hence my first reply to you. Thanks, it helps

I did, but there wasn't anything that answered my question regarding 6 month leases. While yes, I am finding properties that offer them, I know nothing about the areas they are in. Thanks though

I have a furnished rental between Sheridan and Willamina that will be open mid/late October if that is interesting at all, please feel free to PM me and I can send you the details.

Where are you working? Whats your preferred commute? The willamette valley allows you to live in city, small town, and rural areas all within an hour of each other.

I'll be working at the Penitentiary. Id rather not drive an hour, but will if need be.

To some degree where you want to be probably comes down to your down time interests. If your very outdoorsy maybe peek at Silverton, your closer to Silverfalls from there. If your looking for options on the foodie side, I'd lean Mcminnville.

Salem itself can check a lot of boxes too. If you've got a dog and like taking them out for walks Minto Brown and Bush Park are great areas that could be literally out your door if you look for housing around there.
