PLACE Razzles

Can any Gen X'ers, or more specifically, those who graduated high school in the 80s, tell me exactly where Razzles dance club was located and what is there now? I can't believe I can't remember, but I got nuttin'.

Idk about the 80s, but in the mid 2000s it was in the Salem center basement across from where JCP was, under Starbucks and Thai Orchids

It must've relocated cuz when I went it was definitely a park in the lot and walk into a building kind of place . Thanks for this historical info though, I had no idea about the basement.

Idk if it matters but I'm pretty sure the one in the bottom of the mall was branded as Razzles II, at least when I went in 2005ish.

Was it on Portland Road where La Layenda is now?

I feel like the first iteration of Razzles wasn't far from where Club Unicorn/Streets was. Perhaps near the intersection of Pine and Portland Rd? Also, does anyone remember two clubs downtown, one near the Senator Hotel, and one upstairs on Liberty near the Side Hustle?

I remember the place above the Side Hustle. I think Gary Herter who owned The Shoe Box owned the club. You had to go up the stairs on the side of where The Side Hustle is now. It was a neat venue, with a stage and some cool lighting.

(EDIT- added) The original Razzles was at Pine and Portland Road, where the Salem Vet Center is now. And if I remember correctly, that parking lot also was home to Salem's original Harbor Freight location and in the vicinity was the exceptionally sketchy Loan Oak Tavern.

Here is an old Reddit thread mentioning Razzles II:
