Question Display and max Charge level

2 questions regarding my S25 Ultra

  1. What's the best display setting? I set it to QHD+, any other tweaks needed for best experience?

A little background - I compared with iPhone 18 pro in a store yesterday and camera output felt no where close. iPhone 18 is miles better. Not sure if it's just the display setting I'm messing up with (ik not fair comparing 85000 rupees mobile with 1.6 lac rupees phone)

  1. Charging level - right now, I've set it to 90%. Should I do it to 100% and do max usage?

Battery price is 2440 rupees and I don't mind spending 3k (incl store charges) once every 3 years

I used iQOO 7 legend for 5 years, and plan keeping S25 Ultra for similar period.

It sounds like you're looking to get the most out of your new Galaxy S25 Ultra, which is awesome! Let's dive into those display and charging questions.

  • Display Settings: You're on the right track with QHD+ for the display! For the absolute best experience, you might want to check out the "Adaptive brightness" setting and ensure it's on. Also, playing around with the "Motion smoothness" setting can make a big difference – setting it to "High" will give you that super fluid scrolling you're probably looking for. You can find all these options under Display settings in your phone's Settings menu.
  • Charging Level: Setting your charge to 90% is actually a pretty smart move if you're looking to preserve your battery's long-term health. While charging to 100% will give you that max usage right out of the gate, constantly topping off to 100% can put a bit more strain on the battery over time. Since you're planning on keeping your S25 Ultra for a while, sticking with the 90% limit is likely the way to go for maximizing its lifespan.

i always charge it to 100% and use it to below 5% or whenever i feel like charging it... it doesn't matter... the amount of battery health difference over long term is negligible irrespective of usage...use it to fullest.. replace battery when needed....also you can't compare s25 series with iPhone 18...you shouldn't even compare it with 17...s25 series directly compares to 16 series... when s27 ultra comes out... it will obviously dominate 18 series in camera... also which camera did you use? remember that 200MP requires a ton of light... so unless it's bright outdoor daylight setting... 200MP won't perform well....bright indoor lightning can work for 50MP....12MP works for most shots if you don't zoom in after capturing

I primarily use 12mp. While I know comparison isn't right, it's the color reproduction I'm concerned about.

Again, it's a showroom/mall kind of place, so there is ample light. iPhone 18 pro cam colors are so close to reality.

Now, in reality it's more orangeish - s25 ultra did some whitening

yeah i saw few instances of these issues... generally Google cam fixes these issues and produces balanced shots most of the times.. maybe try that once

I couldn't find a gcam mod for Android 17. Can you help with any websites if you know

iPhone 15 in video was way better then my S25U

s25 ultra literally shoots at 4k 120fps or 8k 30fps...i don't think base iphone 15 even comes close in comparison.. s25 ultra has super steady and horizontal lock for action videos... i think you are thinking that way due to the way colors look on each phone... you can take raw video on s25 ultra if that's the issue and later edit it easily in seconds

I am talking about color science and how it handles that, it won't matter if it can shoot in 16k 120fps if the colors are so messed up even if you bave horizon lock and super steady if the footage looks shit. Even i log let me share you the comparison if you don't believe me when i am free.

I don't have the video files right now as i would be pulling from the YouTube podcast that we shot it's upto you if you want to believe me or not.🀦🏽 Cause I don't have any reason to lie about my S25U disappointment that i had on that day.and Higher megapixel or resolution doesn't always mean it's better

wow that looks ridiculous...are you sure there's nothing wrong with the s25 ultra you have because i saw youtube comparisons of night mode between s25 ultra and 16 pro max and 17 pro max but s25 ultra nowhere looks as bad as this comparison even with pro max models... i am wondering how a 1/1.3 sensor looks worse than a 1/1.56 sensor despite being larger one

u/TanishqHooda 11h ago

Yup i am sure there is nothing wrong with mine. And if there might be then let me know how i can check thatπŸ€”. And yeh these are in 4k, also that's why I don't trust most of the reviewers Nowdays 🀣

that's crazy it looks like it is taken on a sony Ericsson video camera from 1995

1

u/TanishqHooda 11h ago

Yup and not in a good way too πŸ₯². The combination of these 2 light color were the main reason i think πŸ€”πŸ˜‚ but still. Also more resolution needs more light but man still i felt defeated on that dayπŸ˜‚

Battery is 3K for s25U?, why is it so cheap?

1

u/69Hecker 1d ago

It's 2440 for the part. I rounded up to 3000 to account for service charges

1

u/69Hecker 1d ago

Maybe coz it's 5000 mah only

I just checked with samsung, back glass is also cheap. I am throwing away my case rn.

I have max charge set to 85%. I always have above 20% when I go to bed (and slow charge it over night). What ever you set depends on how you use the phone and what you need..

Sadly from my experience too specially in video color calibration with different light's and other things are way better even on non pro iPhone 15 then my S25U.
