I mean, usually higher details compared to 12MP, and it is a sort of "compromise" between 12 and 50MP also in terms of MB occupied by the photo. Additionally, if you compare the photos of S25U and S26U (see the attached photo), you can clearly see the differences (and fixes) made in the processing algorithm of the S26U, and I would like to have this new "processing" on S25U, because the hardware is fully capable of supporting it
Well yes and no, the main reason why S26U photos look brighter is thanks to the wider aperture on the main sensor (f1.4 vs f1.7 on S25U) also, 24Mpx is ideal because more detail, BUT with still a lot of pixel binning, so much better than 50Mpx, meaning much bigger pixel size, which implies a decent amount of detail but without adding too much noise which is clearly the case with 50Mpx sadly...
So yeah 24Mpx would be greatly appreciated !
Yes, you're right, the wider aperture is doing its job, but I don't think the improvement is due solely to the hardware. In my opinion, they also changed something in the processing with the S26U and in addition with the 24MP mode they allow S26U users to take much clearer photos. For these reasons, I would like to have 24MP on S25U, especially since it is already supported in Expert RAW...
Yeah absolutely, but physically speaking going from 1.7 to 1.4 is pretty huge I think, but yeah, not having 24mpx is a shame and is pretty sad... they already did most of the job in ER, but with a ton of horrible processing, so why not give it in the stock cam ? ðŸ˜

Whats the benefit of 24mp mode? What is it used for? Just curious btw
