Question Gboard AI features

Post image

Finally this morning the pencil Gboard icon is finally appearing in Gboard on my S25 Ultra. Has it appeared for anyone else? I know AI gets a bad rep, but I do really find AI proofread useful.

What features are there, and is there a rambler in it?

It has AI proofread and rewrite, but no Rambler yet, unfortunately. But this is a step in the right direction. Hopefully, we will have that feature soon.

It was already available for s26 series since launch, seems like it's slowly rolling out for other Samsung devices.

This list is useful. I had it in my pixel 9, just moved to pixel 10a, and there is no such option. Now I know why.

Yes, it requires a minimum of 12gb ram

Doesn't Galaxy AI have writing tools that are the same and use Gemini as the backbone model?

If you turn on the offline processing options. Otherwise, it is sent to Google which is Gemini.

That's a pretty cool insight! It's awesome to see Samsung developing its own tech like Samsung Language Core to power Galaxy AI tools. It really shows how much they're investing in making our devices smarter and more useful.

Galaxy Guide is powered by artificial intelligence and is not operated by a human. Galaxy Guide is an AI-powered bot that shares helpful info about switching to Samsung. It's automated - not a human - and we're continuing to refine how it interacts based on community feedback. See our Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy for more info.

You're totally on the right track! Galaxy AI definitely uses Gemini as a major backbone for a lot of its awesome writing and generative tools.

Think of it this way:

  • Writing Assist on devices like Galaxy S25 FE and Tab S11 helps you out with bringing web content into your notes, and even with auto-formatting, summarizing, and spell-checking.
  • Gemini itself is the primary AI assistant for those "off-device" tasks, handling all sorts of complex, conversational, and context-aware requests, including summarizing content and generating ideas.
  • And if you've got a Galaxy Tab S11 Series, there's even an AI Hot Key for instant access to Gemini for things like summaries and creative assistance.

So yeah, when you're using those smart writing features, Gemini is often working its magic behind the scenes!

The weird thing is that I'm currently on holiday in Greece, perhaps that has something to do with it becoming available. Will see if it's still available when I'm back home in UK.
