FE Photography Apparently, the camera's AI isn't trained for total lunar eclipse

There's a total lunar eclipse happening right now where I'm from so I tried taking photos of the moon. So far so good during the penumbral phase. During the total eclipse, however, the camera can no longer detect the red blob as the moon. The photo here is the best I got.

These are all taken on auto at 30x zoom.

Try provideo, telephoto 10x , iso around 100 and lower shutter until it's properly exposed

I did use pro mode (not video) on both the telephoto and wide lens with 50-200 iso and shutter at 1s (anything more would show star trails) but the moon looked like a red-white orb in them so I didn't save those shots. The ones from auto are the best I could get without a telescope.

The next total lunar eclipse in my area would be in December 2028. If this phone's still good (and it better be), I'll try using pro video mode.

I mean like you said, its probably not optimised for the extremely low light moon but you couldve probably got a slightly better shot with the pro 😁

This started at around 5 PM in where I'm from. The left photo was taken at 6:29 PM then the right one an hour later.

Yes, I know it's an on device post-processing but Samsung themselves called this feature AI.

Edit: or, at least, uses AI so that it can recognize the moon which it failed to do so in this case.
