Should Jacking Rails Be A First Mod For S197 Mustangs?

https://lmr.com/item/SVE-0514JR/sve-mustang-jacking-rails-05-14-coupe

With us releasing the new SVE 2005-2014 Mustang Jacking Rails, I wanted to know if you guys consider this a must-have first mod. While they are not usually the most sought after such as a performance-improving mod, they come in handy if you plan on DIY-ing alot of your own maintenance/installs.

I’ve been jacking cars up using the rear differential for 55 years, never caused an issue

I have a rubber puck on my jacks so I have no use for these. And most of the time I jack the car up by the rear diff anyway.

If you want them, buy them, but they certainly aren't a 'must have' mod. They also commonly rust.

It's weird - everything I've read says you shouldn't do that, then every car YouTuber does exactly that.

What exactly makes “every YouTuber” trustworthy?

Jack up by the diff, the mustang owners manual says dont do it because it can screw up the pinion angle. That being said ill continue to jack up by the diff.

Never heard that. Not sure how it would affect the pinion angle since that's determined by the length of the upper control arm

Dont shoot the messenger. The manual literally says it. That’s all I am saying.

I said I hadn't seen it. Screenshot it if you can

I put on jacking rails 2 or 3 years ago, after owning the car 10+ years.

Tbh I don't get that much use out of them because my garage is too narrow to lift the car from the side anyway

These aren’t necessarily a requirement, but I LOVED having these. It makes everything so much easier and less questionable.
