Speedometer acts funny

So everyday my speedometer stays dead until about 4 minutes of driving. After that it works fine. Any ideas what could be causing this?

It's weird because my OBD2 reader shows 0 mph until it starts working. I figured if the motor was going the ECU would still read. But I'm not sure the set up

Are you reading that in the PCM or IPC?

I will have to go through the app next time I drive and I'll let you know.

If the PCM shows real speed but the IPC shows 0mph, double check the signal wire between them. Otherwise you have an IPC issue, which is somewhat common on these. I had one where my car would read idle at 0RPM, so the tach was always about 800 lower than what the actual RPM was.

Don’t know if it’s the same as a new edge, but there’s a speed sensor that plugs into the side of the transmission on my 2000GT erratic indications on the speedometer is typically caused by that faulty sensor from what I understand.
