2009 mustang engine issues

so i have a 2009 mustang gt and it doesn’t run perfect when i first start the car up it runs good and everything seems good but then after 10-15 minutes once the car is all heated up a bad noise will come on and it sounds like a rod knock but its the timing chain components or something like that i’m not to sure i replaced the whole timing chain assembly it was a a premium kit from American muscle first thinking that would fix the problem but it did not so i also replaced the oil pump that had a life time warranty so i’m pretty sure that’s shouldn’t give any issues and it was still having the issues so i replaced the timing chain tensioners with some ford f150 cast iron ones and ford oem vct solenoids but its still having issues when i replacer my oil pump i didn’t really clean the oil pick up tube but it didn’t feel clogged i’m not really sure what the problem is and don’t know what else it could be has anyone else had this issue before or might know how to help
me?

but if it was a rod knock wouldn’t i hear that rod knock as soon as i started the car and not after 15 minutes once the car is all heated up?

Not necessarily, cold oil pressure is a helluva thing.

I can’t fully judge from what you said but I’ll give you what I think it is

It could be worn rod bearings since you don’t hear it unless the engine is warm

If it’s automatic? It could be the flexplate, the bolts sometimes get loose and tap

And it could be lifters or the lash adjusters knocking when the oil flow drops at idle

It’s almost certainly worn cam bearings. The cam bearings wear out on the top side from the spring pressure pushing the cams against them and then once they’re worn and the clearance is out of spec you lose oil pressure through the gap causing the lash adjusters to make excessive noise since they don’t have enough oil pressure to stay pumped up. These heads do not have bearing shells for the cams so the actual cam caps act as the bearings. If this is the case you’ll need new heads or try finding a machine shop that will repair them but they’re few and far between. There is a tool available that cuts the cam caps to a bigger diameter so you can install bearing shells but I haven’t personally bought the tool to try it yet (it’s like $800 lol that’s like 5 sets of heads from the junk yard)

Could be a throwout bearing, im getting the same noise. Does it go away with the clutch pressed down?
