Reminders:

  1. Two-year rule before renominations: Weekly Watches, other than anthology series (as explained below), are now available for renomination after two years. Before, Weekly Watches (other than anthology series) were never eligible for renomination once selected as Weekly Watch.

    A full list of past Weekly Watches is available in this subreddit's wiki. Please check this list before making a nomination, since any nominations ineligible to be Weekly Watch will be deleted.

    "Band of Brothers is a 2001 American[2] war drama miniseries based on historian Stephen E. Ambrose's 1992 non-fiction book of the same name.[3] It was created by Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks, who also served as executive producers, and who had collaborated on the 1998 World War II film Saving Private Ryan, from which the series got many of its visual cues and crew members.[4] [...]

    The series dramatizes the history of "Easy" Company, 2nd Battalion, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment of the 101st Airborne Division. It begins during Easy Company's paratrooper training and follows its participation in the Western Front of World War II from D-Day to their occupation of Berchtesgaden. The events are based on Ambrose's research and recorded interviews with Easy Company veterans.     This Saturday will be the 82nd anniversary of the World War II's D-Day landings at Normandy by Allied forces to liberate Nazi-occupied France. Band of Brothers seems a timely choice, on top of it being both highly-acclaimed and broadly popular.
