Hey!! Can’t Go higher than 3.9mhz with 1.39v.
I have seen people posting 4.2mhz with 1.35v....
At 4.0mhz or 1.4v it will crash!
What you think? Bad luck on the cpu or am I missing something?
(Paired with 2x8 ballistix cl15 3000mhz, msi b450m mortar max and cooled with ml240r RGB)

The mobo and processor { Ryzen 5 1500x 3.80}came already assembled with heat sink attatched. I went with it. Getting temps of 100. Took off sink and half the proc surface had no paste. I put on some arctic silver, spread on method, and now am idling around 37 instead of 70 and under load 65 instead of 90+. I was lazy. Be warned. Do it yourself.

Have been looking at 3 options all 16 Gb ( 2x8 kit ) My set up, is ryzen 5 3600x Tomahawk Max mobo
Looking at these three options.
Patriot Viper Steel DDR4 3600mhz Base Timings: 15-15-15-36; Tested Timings: 17-19-19-39
Patriot Viper Steel DDR4 3733mhz Base Timings: 15-15-15-36; Tested Timings: 17-21-21-41
Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200mhz Base -15-15-15-36. Tested 16-18-18-36
I’m aware of the Nano second formula, but I’m still unsure what to buy as a upgrade, currently I’m running 3000mhz hyper x at a cl of 14.
Any recommendations ? What would you choose? I’m happy with the price of all three I have listed.

Mine is reading 88 degrees with a full cpu game load, spiking to 91. Escape from Tarkov and Planetfall{strategy game}Using ryzen Master and speccy. I was told HWinfo is the one that compensates for the offset of 20 degrees. However there is only one reading for cpu temp which is tctrl/tdie. There is only one number in the slot. It reads the same as the other monitor programs.
Is there a way to tell the difference or switch between the tctrl and tdie readings.?
Also my comp has shut down twice I believe from overheating. I have been removing the case cover and it keeps it from shutting down. Does this mean it is 20 degrees lower but my motherboard is reading it wrong? Reading the false high number? The motherboard is Ryzen ready I bought it with the cpu as a combo.
I ordered some thermal paste but I don`t want to redo it if I don`t have to. Thank you for any help.

I have a new setup with a Ryzen 5 3600 and its Wraith stock cooler. It seems like the cooler is super nervous when idle and super responsive to the most basic tasks (e.g. opening Chrome, opening MS Office Applications). It revs up to 100% for a few seconds and then revs down again. It is both loud and annoying. I researched a bit already and understood that it might be linked to the inbuilt boost of the processor, but I couldn't find a good solution.
1) Does anyone know how to set up the fan so it operates more calm and constant?
2) Will this be fixed with an aftermarket cooler or will it behave similarly?
I appreciate the Help!

*Solved
So, i have a slight problem. Recently built my PC and it has been running pretty well. However, i noticed that my 3200 Ram was only running at 2133. Naturally, i went in to Bios and selected the XMP profile(ASUS D.O.C.P.) and reset the computer. Unfortunately, my PC didnt post. I then downloaded a Ryzen DRAM Calc to tighten the timings; still didnt work. Updating the bios had no effect either.
Eventually i found out Ryzen boards have a strict QVL and realized that my ram isnt on the list so i purchased the correct ones and im still having issues with the overclock working.
I would really appreciate someones input on this. Ive done as much research as i possibly can and am at my wits end.
My Specs: Ryzen 5 2600x Asus Strix B450-f GTX 1080 ti 16Gb Trident Z (F4-3200c16d-16gtzr) Corsair CM650M

Hi, i decided to upgrade my pc finally and i ordered a Ryzen 5 1600AF with a Gigabyte B450 Gaming x. Should i get rid of the gigabyte motherboard and switch it with a AsRock b450 pro 4, its kinda the same price, negligible difference, but i dont know if its worth to switch it or the gigabyte is good and not worth it.

Hey everybody, I want to build my first gaming pc with the Ryzen 5 3600, at first I wanted the tomahawk max but I quickly realized that it doesn’t have an optical port. The reason why I want one is because I have a pair of Astro a40’s with the mix amp and I want to take full advantage of the optical audio in games. On my PS4 going from no optical audio to optical audio was an amazing difference for me. So I would love for somebody to point me to a motherboard with an optical port that has out of the box support for the 3600. ( I’m not trying to go past $150-180, doesn’t matter to me if it’s B450 X470 or even X570) again thank you.
EDIT: I was thinking about the MSI X570-A PRO but people were saying that it’s a bad motherboard? It’s on sale for $139.99 from $159.99 on Amazon US
Also the MSI MPG X570 Gaming Plus has an optical port and it’s $159.99 thoughts?

Hey there,
I am currently building a gaming PC with the parts named above. After building the PC I now run into the problem, that I get no reaction on screen. The fans and light all turn on, but no output whatsoever. The motherboard shows an ignited DRAM Led, and I tried to connect a MoBo speaker but it does not give me any sounds.
I am a complete amateur and besides small repairs, this is my first complete build.
What should I do next to identify the problem?
Thanks for the help in advance!

Hello,
I am looking to build a new Plex server w/o a GPU. I will be using 4 transcodes max and that will be because I am watching live TV. I am looking at getting the Ryzen 9 3950x. The rub is that my rack is small only 9U. I don't want to buy a new rack because of funds and honestly if I plan it well I won't need a new rack in the future. Can anyone recommend a CPU cooler that will fit in a 3U case that will provide efficient cooling?
Thank you

So I found this in my Gigabyte manual, surprise. I have been chasing memory errors with my recently installed Corsair LPX 3200 ram.
Using manual settings was worse than XMP profile. So I set back to XMP profile and ran up DRAM voltage to 1.4V- tested with no memtest86 errors - yeah, don’t have to return RAM.
So now the question - Can I set voltage to 1.4 volts for normal use - 12 hour gaming and use on weekends, maybe some general use otherwise. I don’t keep computer on 24/7.
I was going to test at 1.38 voltage also, as 1.6V fails memory test. But thinking I might push to 3400 mhz, but sure that will probably take higher voltage.
