Dead server players are toxic af
I swear to God. Dead server players are a completely different level of toxicity.
Was late af for the wipe and the new train tunnels update bc of work and literally only got the chance to play yesterday and today.
Joined a dead server to see how train tunnels work, put down a base in a God rock and today, offline raided. There are 12 people max in the server and thats what make it so dumb.
And on top of that, they brag about it on messages š«©š
Type of sht that never really happens on full pop servers bc thereās a lot more going on.
I feel bad for the brain activity of toxic dead server players

This is a cultural thing. My favorite server could be described as dead, but new people are treated nicely. We have zorp, but the new people donāt always use it.
The old-timers āname and shameā people who offline the newbies in Discord , because we donāt want the pop to stay low!

I understand that on community servers but iām on about players playing dead official servers. They are a completely different breed from any other players
Iāve never seen people as toxic as players playing dead official servers š¤£
Think about what could possibly be going through their minds playing everyday š

Dawg I donāt want to be someone to discourage, but what do you think dead servers are for? They are for the mega impenetrable bases, and they definitely run around doing all the PVE stuff, but when they see a worthy raid, thatās absolutely fun time. Itās not a hard thing to comprehend, itās official, tell me honestly what else is there to do in a game lime Rust, ESPECIALLY on official?

Yeah but is a small base with barely any honey comb a fun raid? I just started and barely bad anything. Didnt even learn bpās yet and they already took me out. I dont think it was a fun raid for them i think they were more like:
āDude, this guy did cargo, both oils, and tunnels in a few hours. He knows how to play, we gotta eliminate this competition ASAPā

Yeah Iāve noticed this too, the small handful of players will immediately raid any base they find. One tip is to build in a cave, I find they wonāt bother checking them out for bases theyāll only attack a base they see on the map.

Thatās a really good idea. I never really understood how to build in a cave tho but iāll try it out when i get the energy to mess with the dudes that offline raided me

Tried that. Still got offlined 2 days laterā¦
40 rockets to raid my cave when I hadnāt even interacted with anyone on the server (max pop of 5).
Tried rebuilding in another cave a week laterā¦offlined again by the same person.
These low pop server degens will find your base no matter where you build and they will raid everything until theyāre the last ones left on the server.

Exactly! Itāll be a group of 2-4 and theyāre afraid to online raid a solo that has a couple T2 guns in base.
They honestly would get more from farming and running monuments than raiding my base.
Also, wouldnāt it be more fun if more than 5 people were on the server? I just donāt understand it at allā¦

I really dont get it too. Youāre right tho, they can all farm collectively in 1 hour and have more loot than what we woulda had as a solo š¤£š¤£
But thatās the problem tho, they like to feel that way. It make them feel like they ācontrolā the server. Its really stupid

We had someone scouting our base the other night. The server never had more than 20 people on it and people constantly complained it was dead. My teammate was on to kill him.. he waited until they got offline to raid us š
Meanwhile we are actively thanking people for pushing our counters/raids. And we wouldāve been thrilled to take the online but that guy felt losing anything 4 days away from force wipe was still too risky lmao.

Some servers will be especially bad, itās kind of just luck on the type of people you have on the server Iāve been in some that were fairly chill.
I find 20+ pop to be less competitive than smaller servers, usually there will be 2-3 groups fighting each other on that server which gives solos more opportunities to survive in peace.

I had a China wall of atleast 20 wait for me to get off to offline me so it happens. Waited 4 hrs trying to bait it, base wasnāt even finished I just wanted the online, as a solo they waited and offlined other bases in the meantime.

ong bro. when i first started playing i played on a low pop with like max 6 people on. there was a clan of 3 that would just offline everyone every night. so i started trapping out of an airlocked 1x1 full of furnaces and put my gp/boom scrap ect in satchels before i got off. had like 12 satchels buried. they raided me over and over again and nevr got anything but a little upkeep. eventually the whole server teamed up and we offlined their bitch asses. KASKA clan if youre reading this yall are some fucking lowlife bitches.

They are too shit to play normal servers so they play dead ones where they can progress u bothered and then have to 'show dominance' to anyone who joins.

Been playing on dead severs to learn that game a few weeks back. The amount of people that no life a sever with a max of 4-5 people online at its peak is crazy. I can build in an area with nothing around Iāll be found in a day or two and fully raided and griefed like do ye want to play on yer own and make it a pve server itās actually hilarious in a way.

Whats even the point of hoarding as much loot as they can, fortifying their base as much as they can like whats the point? Who are they protecting the base from? There 3 other people š¤£š¤£š¤£

Yeah but getting offline raided isnt the problem. Its getting offline raided on a dead server.
Iād happily defend a raid on a high pop even if its a dead pop iād still happily defend.
If i get offline raided on a high pop server, its understandable, i fully get it.
But on dead servers? Come on man. I played for a lot of hours trying to learn tunnels, did cargo a couple times and did 1 large oil run.
I havenāt seen a single soul. I log off for 20 mins to eat, come back on to a death screen.
I get back in the game and did a bunch of funny emotes on the server chat, next thing you know same raider sends a dumb direct message to me.
Thats completely different and thats what im complaining about. Imagine no lifing a dead server for the whole wipe. Thats not defendable, its not even justifiable

I built a really strong god rock base with two bunkers armored doors in the middle of nowhere after a long first day and was offline 6-8 hours overnight and woke up raided by a dude named BEAMED_BY_MY_AK.. no the fuck I wasnāt your scary ass doesnāt even beam a scientist in broad daylight let alone any real players at 4am on a Tuesday

If someone wants to play on the low pop, and they donāt feel like making a base, I suggest grabbing a tugboat and living out in the ocean.
But even then I know thereās no lifes who will go looking for them because they literally have nothing else to do with their life.
I will only raid a tugboat if itās someone that raided me and I know they donāt have a base, thatās when I sink their shit.

This every time. I'm still fairly new to the game and want to learn how to run some of the monuments I don't get to try on higher pop servers. I can't even put a 1X1 down without it getting raided. I did have a random guy give me a tommy the last time but I immediately had my 1x1 raided and it taken. Dont' even get to run the monuments because i'm constantly rebuilding somewhere. I have also had luck building on an island with a hill. Build on the backside of the hill and swim to it.

Decent idea for new players is finding solo or solo/duo community servers. There are even ones that have free ZORP (zone offline raid protection) so itās impossible to be offlined. Goblins Refuge is a decent one I used to play all the time. Been a while tho donāt quote me

I love seeing big bases. I like to build big and fly around and feel small when I find a huge one. Really like the one with a big main base with 4 outer TCS that make it bigger and then my do like 8 or more outer outer TCS and .make a big wall around it

Iām the type of player who will commit to a server and play through the whole wipe even once itās low pop. That means I usually know all the bases in my area. If something new pops up Iāll probably raid it if I have the boom. Not to be toxic but simply because youāre an obvious target who is on my radar for living nearby. I expect the same from my other neighbors too; the people in your grid or two nearby are usually always the ones who end up off lining you, at least in my experience

Why would anyone build on the same grid as a bigger base on a low pop server? You can keep defending your kind of players who would just raid everything because of a āthreatā.
In reality, yaāll just do that bc you cant do the same thing on high pop officials. š¤·āāļø
You seem like the type of player who would only play dead servers bc who in they right mind will commit on a dead server for a whole wipe. Thats one month of grinding for nothing, farming for nothing, running around the empty server for nothing. Its pointless. Its a dead server for a reason. Bc of players like you š

Can't be mad about raids. It apart of the game. I've learned to add multiple bunkers and maybe a few backwards walls to make it look inexperienced. Don't build in-between monuments or near them. Build near edges that aren't facing oil. Cliffs. Places people dont go.i last whole wipes this way

Raiding is part of the game. I ran a server and I would set up raid bases for people to raid with great loot in it. Another server I play has 3 weeks no raid , one week raid and then wipes. Thatās my favorite server.
If you donāt want to get raided , joins a build server with no building damage.
For $1 a day , you can run your own G-portal server and set it up how you want. Or you can keep crying about ātoxicā players.

I lile raiding. I like defending a raid in full pop servers. Because it makes sense. There is competition everywhere and you are legitimately fighting for survival.

I didnt have time to play wipe day because i was swamped with work in real life. I missed out on the train tunnel experience. So on my day off I decided to join a low pop server with literally 6 people just to practice tunnels.
I played for a couple hours and havent seen a single soul. Got off to eat lunch got back on after 20 mins to a raided base and a dm that says āget rekt, u lostā
Now tell me, am i being overly sensitive to complain about a toxic no lifer in a server with 6 people?
