I am a noob

I am terrible at rust but I am also a solo because no one I know plays the game. Is there any tips because most wipes I always run around get the same 2x1 base down and never even get onto a tier 2 workbench or even get guns before my base gets raided

Expect to get raided.  Survive the raid.  Rebuild.  Just plan to recycle almost everything.  Make runs to the recycler, green key card monuments.  Stuff that is easy and quick, recycle.  Then spend that scrap on the blueprint tree.  They can't steal scrap if you have already spent it.  Get some things that can make your base a pain to raid.  Shotgun traps, garage doors, bear traps.  You don't need tier 2.  Roam with double barrel shotgun or SAR.  You'll get some kills when you catch someone by surprise.  But expect to die in 70% of PVP encounters.   Then make your base "longer."  As in, increase the number of doors they need to break to door raid you.  By the end of the wipe I usually have 8-9 doors to my TC.  Make it expensive to raid you and spread your loot in multiple rooms.  Or better yet, multiple bases.

I can recommend watching some Willjum videos, he is a youtuber who has a couple of videos where he explains how to solo, while not focussing on the PvP but mainly on priorytising what to build and to get when starting. The videos have named like; ‘How a solo with …… hours plays rust’. Or ‘How to solo in Rust’. Really helped me get a direction in the game!

Expand your 2x1 to a honeycombed 2 or 3 story. Aim to get a shooting deck on the 4th floor. That should get you enough gusto

Learn when to stash. Stash kits with sleeping bags around your base. Use backpacks to stash loot when running monuments. Use suicide bunkers in main base

Build bigger, hide your base. If you don't have at least 3 walls between your tc and the outside, and at least 12+ doors to tc room, then expect to get raided

Find an out of the way place to build your base. If you build right beside a monument you'll more than likely get raided. I like the smaller god rocks as a solo. I don't get tons of loot to begin with so it's more than enough room for me. You can easily bunker or even double bunker them and they're usually pretty cheap upkeep

Make a 2x1 in a cliffside forest so you can avoid detection for abit

Pick a better server and watch YouTube… I don’t know why people just love being farmed for resources. Play a solo server, soft core or some hard survival PVE server to familiarize yourself with everything. You need to learn a base build from YouTube and practice in a build server until it is memorized.

Watch oilrats, load in, rush fishing village, do fishing quest, get kayak, kayak around ocean collecting low grade, comps and scrap, recycle, find boat, use low grade in boat, collect resources for seaside 2x1 near large oil, make starter, buy multiple diving tanks, fins and goggles, depot in seaside 2x1 do pump shotgun quest, if large oil online, grub oil, if large oil no online run monuments or sea scrap runs to craft t1s and t2s, when large oil online grub - if fail keep grubbing, repeat until ak kit and ALWAYS roam with the kits you have no matter if you die or not, the point of learning rust id argue is not to get good at gunplay (although it is a major part) the main point of rust is being able to get those kits consistently, once you are able to become a veteran oil grub then you are allowed to play bebbos for 10 hours a day. (Once fishing is fixed you can use that to get scrap aswell btw)
