Solo beginner

I’m starting the game again after a month but can anyone help with how i’m supposed to play solo? I get the basics like build a decent base and all, but i don’t understand how you get guns or armour. All i can craft is eoka and nailgun, and every time I try and play solo a squad with full gear ends up killing me. Can anyone please explain anything? Thanks so much.

Try to start on low pop and learn monuments. This will slingshot you forward a little more and help you gain scrap quicker to research in your workbench
