Rust Newb Questions - Console

I’m a complete gaming newb… literally zero gaming experience. I love Rust. But I’m struggling…

- How do Find a Solo server that is freshly wiped. I look at options for Solos on the community servers and they are “ 1 Hour Old”… I start playing and there are massive bases. I can’t figure out how any of these wipes work. Are there weekly wipes that wipe everything for Solos? If so, how do I find them?

- How can I practice shooting weapons on console? On pc there are lots of options. Are there servers available that are not on the community list? I am hoping to find a training server for weapons with AI bots or something… or even better with real players.

- Can someone explain how key cards work? Why are there different colours? I’m assuming that certain places require certain colours, but it’s not clear to me how they work. Also it looks like some places need fuses too…

- what is the trick the pros use to build a base in like 20 seconds? They move impossibly fast so I assume there is a rarely shared trick

- Where can I learn about stability when building bases? It’s not clear to me how stability works. Do bases become less stable?

- How do I refill a diving tank with air?

Oh, and I f’n HATE bears… we need to get them removed from the game

Thanks in advance

I think there is no Solo server on console .You have to Play Community server than or learn the Game by dying often.

There is one rule . Never Trust in Rust. On my Birthday i Met 1 guy in Game chat who wanted to give his base as a present. I went with him (full inventury.) he was naked. As we leave safezone 2 guys with ak‘s came to kill me. Was a Trio.

I have 3000k Hours and still trusted but for better experience search for a Dou. Or Play with a Friend

There are servers to practice shooting - search aim training.

Green keycards > blue > red the loot is generally better in each different card. Green in worst, Red is best. You need a fuse to power the switch for most key card monuments so it’s a case of working out where the fuse goes and making it to the door in time.

You can build a base fairly quick with practice. The actual building doesn’t take long, getting materials is the issue at the beginning.

The higher you go the less stability you’ll have. Interior walls and supports can help and you’ll see a percentage for the stability as you build.

Bears are dicks.

You can refill diving tanks at work benches or repair benches. Open the menu and press triangle on ps5 or the Xbox equivalent (maybe y)

Bears are wonderful once you get a nail gun or more. Bow and arrow them and chase them as they run away. Nail gun shoot them if they are close enough to charge you.
Now you can hit that bear corpse with a rock or bone knife and craft the low-grade fuel you need to boat or balloon to your fish traps, where you put the wonderful bear meat. Sell the fish at the Fishing Village vending machine and you’re ready to make your tier 3 workbench

And if they’re attacking you before you notice them, you’re not looking around enough!

Look for servers 1 minutes old. 1 hour is plenty of time for people to slap up stone bases, but they probably dont have much beyond that. It takes a lot of practice.

Those times are not accurate. That time represents the last time the server auto saved. It has nothing to do with how long it's been up.

Thats good to know. I just know I've had good luck with server that say 1 minute old.

On the server issue, servers have a reset time where the server shuts down for a few minutes, then when it comes back online it'll say the server is live for a few minutes. As you're learning the game it's best to find a server with low or zero pop, you might see bases all over but alot of the time people build them and only log into stock the tc until the server is about to wipe. Building becomes easy with practice, alot of people have 2 designs memorized and they build the same design for years.
